Ass slapping...the do's and don'ts

One player commented it was players way of shaking hands.

Theisman commented he found it hard to quit once he got out of the game and was tempted to carry it into the corporate world.

The technique for ass slapping agreed upon by the majority of players interviewed was the backhand...never never with the palm.

I remember seeing a similar story about this several years ago, and they illustrated one of the main "Don'ts" with video of Bill Cowher. They showed him slapping one of his players in the ass and then staring at his ass for like 5 seconds afterwards. Definite "Don't" in ass-slapping etiquette.

I can't believe I'm gonna tell this story but...

When I was in college (the frist time around) I was in a fraternity. One thing the pledge class was supposed to do was dress in drag for the party before we all became brothers. It was shortly after that Robert Palmer video with the all girl band - so we all wore our hair slicked back with black skirts, etc. People seemed to think I was especially hilarious in drag because I'm a big guy (6'5" and at the time a very lean 225lbs). The result of which was I constantly got my ass slapped and fake tits grabbed at the party. It was a seriously disturbing experience and gave me a new found respect for what some women go through with assholes. I eventually got everyone at the party to back the **** off by retaliating with some pretty nice slaps that tended to send people backwards. I'm amazed it didn't start a fight but I guess nobody wanted to tangle with a 6'5" guy in drag.
