Ben Affleck is host and if I remember correctly he was on MSNBC as pro-Kerry Bostonian during the DNC.
Gore lost a lot of ground from his depiction on SNL in 2000.
Be interesting to see if there are any skits about the debates.

I would count on it, but wonder who they have that could do Kerry and who takes over the mantle of Dubyah without Will Farrell.

Opening sketch was hilarious. Bush "it's hard work... even had to come in once on a Saturday", and Kerry changed positions within the sketch. Pretty good stuff.

I liked the later sketch with James Carville & Clinton giving advice on how sKerry should act.

Look, I have been consistently pro-war when speaking before pro-war groups, and consistently anti-war when speaking before anti-war groups. . .
That is NOT flip-flopping. THAT is PANDERING. AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DESERVE A PRESIDENT WHO KNOWS THE DIFFERENCE!!!!

I laughed at that.
Kerry campaign staff can laugh at that in front of Kerry and not get fired. Kerry might be laughing himself.
If someone on B*sh's staff laughed at the portrayal of B*sh in front of him, he would be shot. B*sh's staff probably felt dread when watching that skit, and not humor.
They were probably hoping for an obviously one-sided portrayal, but what they got was one that made fun of Kerry for what he would do to get the job, and made fun of B*sh for not wanting the job anymore.
To the extent that B*sh left that impression, people that like B*sh but are uncertain about his decisions as President, might vote against him as a favor so that he can get along with his life.

I'm not sure how, seems like a pretty accurate description to me. First you suggest that your guy can take a joke better than the other guy, and even suggest the other guy would have people shot for laughing at a parody about him. This is the pinnacle of petty (not to mention desperate) politics.
Secondly, you hopefully suggest that a SNL skit will have an impact on the out come of the election. That is a load of crap. If you actually believe that people are going to decide on how to vote for the POTUS based on a tv parody, you live in a dream world.

No, I didn't see the sketch. But I am not being defensive, my response was based on pure logic and common sense. It has nothing to do with the skit itself, but the ridiculous belief that it is going to make a wit's difference in the out come of the election.

Pure logic and common sense. :hmmm:
Nobody could discern what you were particularly disagreeing with in my post.
Your display of petulance was very un-Presidential. Both at least in one potential future case, it is certainly very ex-Presidential.

If you wouldn't say stupid sh!t, you wouldn't get "petulant responses. Not only that, but I don't care how Presidential or un-Presidential my response was, because I'm not running for President (where the f#ck did that bit come from?).

I have been pimping Kerry since summer 2003 as my preferred candidate, and I laughed. That was actually funnier than the B*sh characterization.
I watched the debate on C-Span split screen and there came a time when I felt a sense of sadness watching B*sh melt away like a snowman in April.
And if you have yet to learn, I oppose B*sh in the upcoming election.

And my opinion about jettio's comment....he's reaching to state what he did, and showing his heavy anti-Bush bias. But i will say he is at least consistent in the fact that he lets his complete hatred for Bush keep him from being able to analyze anything with an open mind.

What I have for B*sh is complete disdain for his Presidency and his administrations duplicitousness and dishonesty.
I don't hate him as a person.
I think it would be expected that both candidates would be lampooned, but I doubt that anyone would have predicted that there would be any suggeston at all that B*sh would be portrayed as saying that the job was so hard for him that he could not handle it.
For a guy that started fund raising for re-election in his first year and has made every decision with a look towards the upcoming election, re-election seemed his primary goal.
Now he is being made fun of for looking like he does not want the job anymore.
I never would have expected that.

But since you think you are so smart.....let me give you a challenge I know you can't fulfill....
Show me where, on this board I have made it my meaning in life to completely vilify Kerry.....show me the many times that I have posted anti-Kerry inflammatory remarks....show me where I have posted a signature that continually ridicules Kerry.
YOU CAN'T!!!!
You see, I have stated before, several times on this board that I have some concerns about Bush and how he has handled some things on his watch....I have been open about certain issues, and yet very solid on others for which I have very strong feelings.
I am a Bush supporter, not a Kerry-basher. You're attempt to try and change my words to prove otherwise shows, once again, you're complete indifference to facts.

"I think you have to draw that line, so the answer is yes, they reached beyond that line, and in my judgment they're trying to exploit certain issues," he said. "The president and I have the same position, fundamentally, on gay marriage. We do. Same position. But they're out there misleading people and exploiting it."
