I just dumped the last of my SWB baggage. Kiss it, buttmunches!!!! The long wait times, the downed service, the ridiculous amount of keystrokes to speak with a human being are all a part of the past now.

Voice Eclipse offers a long time product that is finally being mass marketed - Voice Over Internet Protocol Phone Service (VoIP). If you are getting your internet through a cable modem, check these guys out. There is a link at 973theplanet.com.

I just got 2 separate phone lines, unlimited long distance, caller ID, call waiting, 3 way calling, veFax service, Anonymous Call Blocking, Call Blocking, email notification of voice mails, playback on my PC or phone of my voice mails, voice mail service, and I can forward my number anywhere I want at anytime all for 30.00 a month. AND MY FIRST TWO MONTHS ARE FREE!!!!

It's not a cell phone, so the portability is limited, but the options, not watching minutes, the cheaper price, faxing, and two lines make it well worth it.

First I kicked SWB halfway out of my house when I dumped DSL, now I have gotten rid of the bastards permanently with this move.

What I found cool was with VOIP you could choose any area code you want. Thats what I read from Vonage, at least.

The industry expects to lose about 15-20% of its long distance customers with 2 years to voice over ip

Yeah, I would. But I didn't for two reasons.

1. I didn't want to seem a spammer

2. You can't get the two months for free deal from the main website, it is only offered through the planet.

Does anyone have the Time Warner Cable internet phone service for $39.95? I'm considering it.

It would be nice if a potential customer could find out if the service was available in their area before providing a ton of contact information...

So you can get the VOIP even without switching your cable internet service?

Why? Voice Eclipse offers it for 10.00 less a month. It's probably not available where I live. NOTHING is available where I live. However, surprisingly, Time Warner Cable phone service just became available in Gardner, Ks. TWC already gives me Road Runner internet and my cable TV. It would be nice to have my phone also on the same bill.
