The Redskins announced the signing of defensive back Pat Dennis on Oct. 13. Dennis is regarded as an aggressive cover defender who will bring depth to the Redskins secondary.
Dennis, 5-11 and 207 pounds, joined the Redskins after playing for the Houston Texans for the past three seasons. He was released by Texans in April 2004. He sat out the entire 2003 season because of injury.

In 2002, Dennis played in three games before being placed on injured reserve with the knee injury.

Dennis is a four-year veteran of the NFL, beginning his career in Kansas City (2000) and played in Dallas in 2001 and saw action in 11 games. He has compiled 85 career tackles, one interception and 15 passes defensed during his four NFL seasons.

In 2000, Dennis began his professional career as a fifth-round selection (162nd overall) by the Kansas City Chiefs. He played in 16 games as a rookie starting 13 at cornerback. He recorded a career-high 70 tackles, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and one interception.

Dennis, was a standout cornerback at Louisiana-Monroe, tallying 180 career tackles, 13 interceptions and a school record 36 passes defensed. As a sophomore he led the nation in interceptions (7), returning two for touchdowns, and logged a career-high 75 tackles.

Cool. I was the founder of the Pat Dennis fan club but had to disband it after Titus told me how much he actually sucked.

Good for PD. I thought he had a great rookie season, beating out Warfield and Bartee to be a starter, but DV canned him the next preseason. I guess he's had injury problems and maybe legal problems IIRC since then. But he's still young, so hopefully, he'll find a home in DC.

I once walked 10 feet from Pat Dennis. Can anyone else here make that claim?

Am I the only one who thinks that Dennis would be better right now than Dexter McPassOn?

Are you trying to say that he couldn't cover you, either?

Now that he's a safety maybe the Chiefs will be interested in him once again if things don't work out with the Skins.

He's got more INT's than Burntee.

Would I be wrong if I guessed that you subscribe to the line of thinking that says anyone other than who we have on the team is better?

I converted Pat Dennis to WR on Madden 2000 (or was it 2001?), just for the hell of it.

If the Chiefs sign him, would we convert him to cornerback?

My mind is reeling.

Maybe the Chiefs should look in getting Sylvester Morris back, as well.

No.
I subcribe to the theory that McPassOn is worse than Dennis was.

Of course, I also beleive that Bartee will replace McPassOn in the next couple of games as the starter, and will, like Warfield, flourish in Gun's system.
McPassOn will be demoted to nickle.

That 2000 draft with SlyMo, Burntee, Moreau, and Dennis was quite a bonanza, wasn't it?

Of course, had Wesley and Dante been picked #'s 1 and 2, it wouldn't have looked so bad I guess.

Fourth year in the league and he's already converted from CB to FS. That is usually not done until they've lost a step near 30.
