If you log onto CP from a computer for the first time, or have cleaned the cookies....you arrive with the message:

"There have been no posts on this forum in the last two days."

That might explain the noticeable drop in traffic we've seen in the past few days. Is this related to the sluggish server issues Kyle and Phil have been working on? Just curious. :hmmm:

Seemed like back in August, during the day there'd be between 150-200 people logged on at many times during the day....now it seems to be less than 100 most of the time. Maybe I'm wrong. But maybe it has something to do with being 1-3 and on the bye week.

Whatever it is, keep it up. The server is running smooth.

I wasn't complaining necessarily, just asking for clarification. I hadn't seen it posted anywhere.

I've got no problem with attempts to make things run faster...............I think it would be nice though, to have a message on that page, for guests, so they understand what is happening, so they can create an account if they wish.

No official comment from a mod, eh?

Yes, it's closed to guests. It seems to have increased the performance and user registrations. I'll see if I can put a message out there, though lurkers seem to be figuring it out on their own.

Thanks. I was just curious.

BTW, sorry for the problem; not everyone shares my sense of humor I guess... :banghead:

I ran into a server busy issue last evening so the problems are not totally a thing of the past. I would suggest that once again rep is disabled. It was zooming when that was off.

Not really. It was just a fluke that the server ran well the same time I turned it off. The server had several problems while rep was off, so rep isn't the culprit.

I'm still kind of mad that Phobia and AustinChief sold chiefsplanet to that KC radio station. Buncha sellouts. Nobody does it for the love of the posting anymore.
