Do you think this election will have a record turnout? Or do they ever year?

Found one of the two polls NOT showing Bush ahead, huh?

I assume you are joking, I cannot imagine any US citizen so hateful toward the country as to actually desire that result.

You don't have to imagine, Jim; madprophetmargin would be the one...

Actually, I'm NOT kidding, neither do I hate my country.
The BEST possible result in this election, IMO, is that BOTH candidates get hamstrung for the longest possible time. In the meantime (according to amendment XX), Hastert (or his replacement) would run the show.
I could live with Hastert, far better than I could with either of the other two retards.

Wrong, it would never get that far.
The Congress is sworn in on Jan 6 or 7th, and each state caucus gets one vote.
The Senate votes for VP, majority wins VP.
If the Congress doesn't determine a winner by the 20th, the Senates VP will assume it.
The only way the Speaker could ascend in your scenario, is if the Senate Deadlocks and cannot determine a VP, not possible, as Cheney would break the tie, he would be the current sworn in VP.

Actually, the House would vote the president in, as per article II.
However, the last election didn't go to the house, as it should have (Bush would have won there, too), so why should we expect that this one would? If it didn't, amendment XX would apply.
It's win-win. We get Hastert, and we get to watch pundits and politicians screech like little girls.

The only way Hastert gets in is if there is no VP by January 20th.
This also assumes that the House is deadlocked.

Again, you are assuming that one or the other candidate will remit it to the House. Amazingly enough, there is no constitutional requirement for this.

On what basis did you think that the last election should have went to the House?
The Florida electors had safe harbor, and there weren't letters from the senate questioning that they were "tainted"
Bush had 271 pure and fuggin simple, it didn't get to the house.

Heck yeah, I say the Red states secede from the Union.
Ooops, that would put me in Amerika.
wouldn't it be fun, watching the Midwest tell the Blue states, they don't have flyover priveliges, and force them to fly over Canada to get to Cally.

Like we aren't NOW?
There won't be a civil war, though, or any form of revolution. Why?
"Sure, I'll revolt, just after American Idol is over. But wait! I have to take little Brianna to her soccer game. Maybe tomorrow."

Okay. That gives us the factories, and other means of production, and gives you a few dozen sheep and a million trailer parks.
Deal.
