"He shot a silver bullet through Peter Coors campaign tonight"
"The Iowa race is hot enough to burn the paint off a trailer"
These aren't exact quotes but pretty damn close.
I haven't been watching CBS that much because I would like to watch somewhat objective coverage, but I keep checking back to see what is going to come out of his mouth.

He also said

"You can bet the double wide that Bush is going to win the election."

I was zipping around to all of them and caught a few of his cracks. The guy has lost it.

"8 states are hanging out there like over-ripened fruit"

Leslie Stahl about wet herself when she announced that CO went Dem in the Senate.

Dream on, Dan.

I thought he and whoever that corpse was next to him were about to break out in tears.

He is quickly becoming the epitome of what is wrong with the media. Where his personal opinion is more important than reporting.

You're right and the sad part is, he doesn't even try to hide it.

Earlier in the night, he started saying the state mottos everytime he would refer to one. He got to the point where he was tripping over himself to get them out in time to toss the broadcast to the field reporter. A truly golden moment in television, watching a field reporter stand around while Dan Rather tried to belt out,"...the Sunshine State!" for the hundreth time. Give it up, big guy. Just go fishing.

Well Rather is getting his wish. They just called MI for Kerry to put the EV at 249-238 for Bush.
Can you imagine the reporting on CBS over the next few days if we end up waiting on OH?
I've heard a few times that a lot of these 400k now estimated outstanding votes in OH are in Bush areas.

Last election Dan set a high water mark for wacky sayings with "Yes, and if a frog had sidepockets, he'd carry a handgun." Hard to top that one, but it appears that he's trying. Enjoy your last big night in the saddle Dan-o.

I generally watch NBC for coverage, but Dan is a hoot. In 2000, it was "like riding a Bigwheel through a corn field" or something like that.

Jennings and Rather both irritated the crap out of Bob Dole, so Bob Dole went back to watching Yahoo and listening to Music Choice 818...

Rather is clearly gone insane. Furthermore, sounds like he might have a gambling problem. I was watching FOX and NBC most of the evening, but on the few occasions I turned to CBS...Rather made a number of references to gambling. VERY BIZARRE...RETIRE ALREADY!

Amen to that

One of the talk radio guys said this morning that he feels for Dan Rather, Mrs Rather, and the people they owe money to...because he's out of a job.
