1976. When Carter beat Ford and that mainly was due to Nixon and WaterGate. So then you have to go back to the 60's. Wow....

Sorry I ment popular vote in 50% or above.

So this thread really doesn't have a point? The popular vote has nothing to do with 50%+ of the vote.

No it doesn't. You can win the popular vote without 50% of the vote.

Ok Simple here it is. THe Dems have not gotten over %50 of the vote since Carter 76. Plain enough for you....

That's the point.

No Democrat has won the popular vote by greater than 50% since Carter in 1976.

You are right they haven't. Big deal. 2000 showed us don't even have to win the popular vote to win the presidency. This thread really is pointless.

That's the point.

No Democrat has won the popular vote by greater than 50% since Carter in 1976.

Liberal/Dems have not won the popular vote since 1976.

Kinda mislabeled then don't you think?

Exactly, if not for Ross Perot the voting public may well have banished them from the oval office since the Jimmy Carter days.

I think what you meant to say is they have not won a majority.

I will take issue with the title of the post.

Democrat does not equate to liberal.

Look at the results of gay marriage votes to see that exemplified, or ask a Kerry voter in northeast Ohio what he thinks of abortion.

I think the word they are looking for is majority.
