I ordered something last night. I choose the one day shipping. Now the damn thing says it will be arriving on Nov. 28th. WTF is up with that?

Call them and find out.

I've ordered a ton of things from Amazon and never had one problem.

How long does it usually take to get it? I'll see if the date changes in two days, and then I'll call.

Must be on backorder.

I order from and sell things with them all the time. Great service.

I have. It took 2 weeks to arrive because they had to get the item first I believe.

Don't worry, you'll get your shit.

It was a book. I was hoping to have read it before Thanksgiving. Well, shucks. If I had known it would take that long I wouldn't have asked for one day shipping.

Nobody's interested in your book, Bomb Making On A Budget, so peddle your wares elsewhere...

About 6 months ago at about 2am, I ordered a used CD from Amazon's website. At 9am the next morning there was a knock at the door and a woman was delivering the CD that I ordered 7 hours earlier.

Turns out she lived about 1/4 mile down the road.

Weirdest online shopping experience in my entire life.

1. Buy the book from a retailer
2. Keep your receipt from the retailer
3. When your new book from Amazon arrives, return it to the retailer

They're shipping it on the 27th, and you'll receive it on the 28th. That's one day.

Oops, the 28th is a Sunday. Don't expect it then either.

I think he is concerned with the cost of shipping since he wont get it when he expected he would.

One day shipping is NOT one day DELIVERY. All that means is that they shipped it within 24 hours of your order. What kind of delivery did you get?

Did Britney Spears release a new quote book or something?

I order videogames from them all the time. Never had a problem yet, although they do get their release dates wrong from time to time. I pre-pay for items, expecting them within a certain time, only to realise that the release date that Amazon had posted was wrong, and that Ill have to wait longer for it.

But as far as them shipping the item when they have it, they are one of the best online stores ive used.

It's not that I am having a problem with amazon. I guess I'm just more surprised it takes about 2 weeks for them to get the book, and then ship it.

I haven't seen it at a retailer either.

Amazon sucks. The one and only reason they suck is because of the problem you are having. They take forever to "process" orders..ie, put them in the box and ship them. Once you order it, it should be processed the SAME day.

I think that the, "Hasselhoff Naked" book is on back order. All the Germans are buying it up for Christmas. Keep your chin up, "John Tesh on the Skin Flute" is set to be released on DVD in the next couple of weeks.

So, I'm thinking that Nov. 28th was just a really bad estimate. I'll get this either today or tomorrow...sound about right?

Amazon has excellent customer service, I order books from them all the time. If a book is out of stock they'll ship the rest of the order for free. I've never had a problem.

Annihilus

I don't know what you ordered, but another possibility is that you ordered something with a street date. If it hasn't been released yet, it will usually ship a day or two before the street date and be scheduled to arrive to you on the day of it's release in stores. This is especially true of music and movies, but to a lesser extent books as well.

I ordered a Xingu tribeswoman from the Amazon once to be my bride, but her table manners were atrocious, so I sent her back. It was a real hassle.

(a recent Britney Spears' original)
Honeymoon Poem

A honeymoon at last, to get away from it all
My assistant Fe gave me the call.

I remember it well, as she was smilin'
She said it was called Turtle Island.

I packed my bags light and quick,
Then grabbed my pink dress & favorite lipstick.

We hopped on a plane and took our flight
I slept really well, all through the night.

As we arrive, I turn and look out the door,
People are greeting us right at the shore.

A meal, a shower and some ice cream
Then I threw my man down, you know what I mean!

Magical nights filled with stars
Silence is golden, no running cars.

Private dinners, romantic fires
Little piece of heaven, whatever your heart desires.

Friendly "hellos" and never goodbyes
When you're having fun, oh, how time flies!

As we sit and prepare to make our part
I thank you, Turtle Island, with all my heart!

~ Britney
