Recently I have tuned into a radio station a couple of times in time to hear the end of this song, and of course I never hear a DJ say what it is. The chorus line says something about "staring down the barrel of a .45". Anyone have any idea what the title of this song is and who performs it?

I saw shinedown last year, they are a good band, not life changing like goo goo dolls, but good.

They do a nice cover of Skynyrd's Simple Man, too. Their live version should be released as a single.

I'm not sure, but I think those lyrics are from the Barney the Dinosaur theme song.

Do you know what a gin blossom is? (where the name came from?)

They're the reason a drunk's nose is red, am I right?

No. I don't

Yes you are. The red nose with broken blood vessels is known as a "gin blossom". The medical people call it rosatia(sp?)

You can usually find these songs if you google a quote of the lyrics along with the word "lyric."

Here is the first hit I found: http://www.anysonglyrics.com/lyrics/s/Shinedown-Lyrics/45-lyrics.htm

Yeah, but that neither ups my post count, nor gives certain know it all music lovers here on the Planet the ability to showcase their know it allness allowing them the opportunity to pat themselves on the back at the sheer volume of musical information they have stowed away in their minds while shaking their collective heads at ignorant fools such as I.

Was that too verbose?

Uhm, if the thought of me owning Shania Twain albums is supposed to cast an embarrassing light on me, I would not care.

Now the false allegation of me being at your house on the other hand.....

If that's the one I'm thinking of, that one sucks. IMO, of course.

Skynyrd's Simple Man

Great marketing, btw. Can you imagine being the A-B conference room the day someone said, "Hey... do you suppose there's an overlap between Busch drinkers and Skynyrd fans?"

I bet that guy got a raise on the spot.

Doing the DJ thing, I get a request for that tune at least 3 times every night since the marketing campaign started.

If he did, he deserved it.

In that same vein, Skynyrd is a genius group, IMO. Alabama is neither Sweet nor Home to most of the US, but every hillbilly and latent 70s rocker can listen to it over 9,555,867,126,756 times and still spend money on the next copy after they wore the last out.

Gochiefs, you should've mentioned Jamie's copy of Culture Club.

BTW, I love the 2 songs I've heard on the radio by Shinedown. Their version of Simple Man is very good, IMO. :thumb:

Appearantly, I am the new Rich Gannon/John Edwards of her life.....
