Mizzou has been notorious in the second half of games. Pinkel's destroying their will to live at halftime. Might be suspending players as I type this.

And so the nightmare ensues for the Big 12 Championship officials. You'll have about 1/2 a stadium of Sooner fans and the Buffalo's and all 5 of their fans. I'm sure they were pulling for the Clones and about 40,000 of their fans to come down. Colorado fans don't travel. There won't be many TV shots of empty seats next weekend. :shake:

ROFL

I tell you. Being a Clone fan is like being a Chiefs fan (only worse). When they are bad, they suck. And things go their way you can count on a sudden and final stab of heartbreak.

My fanship of ISU has dwindled to only the years that they do well. I tend not to follow them on the (too frequent) off years. With the Chiefs though, I haven't been able to practice indifference. And they will eventually give me a heart attack.

With the scandal that rocked CU this past offseason, I'm surprised they're even being allowed by the University to compete post-season. But then again, maybe they have a lot of connections to the Broncos organization, and it's all rolled into some great big Rocky Mountain denial trip.

From ESPN's Page 2, about one of our three national TV games:

Watching 19 games of football in 19 days sounds like a lot of fun, especially when you're getting paid. But think about it this way: It means dedicating at least 60 hours to watching a lot of teams you don't care about it. That's a lot of hours and a lot of bad football games.

I didn't know much about Louisville or Memphis, other than that the Cardinals nearly upset Miami a few weeks ago and their coach, Bobby Petrino, is being rumored as a guy who could replace Ron Zook at Florida. (I also knew that Petrino graduated from Carroll College in Helena, Montana, which happens to be the same school I went to. And you thought it took an Ivy league education -- or at least one of those fancy East Coast liberal arts schools like Williams -- to work at a place like ESPN and be a big-time couch potato.)

It didn't matter. I was riveted to the TV set. Hey, football purists may cringe at the lack of defense on this night, but this game was fun. Quarterbacks Wimprine and Stefan LeFors were terrific, Memphis running back DeAngelo Williams showed his stuff and there was big play after big play.

True, the defense wasn't great. But that did lead to the best exchange of the night, near halftime with the score 35-33, when Herbstreit said, "With all this man coverage not working, maybe you want to play some zone coverage."

Lee Corso: "I can really help these guys! It'd be 34-32 if they took my advice."

Chris Fowler: "Just wait until the defensive backs get more fatigued in the second half."

The scoring did slow down, but only because long drives ate up the clock. And to be honest, I even quit jotting notes down; I just wanted to watch the game.

I just wanted to be a couch potato, not The Couch Potato.

Final game rating: Five potatoes 2-1 on national TV so far this year, with the bowl game coming up. DeAngelo has run for over 650 yards in the three games.

I'm sure KU's players will have fun watching bowl season on TV.

Another fun little stat is average attendance:

First of all, trying to dog KU fans on their football team is an exercise in futility. You can't say anything we haven't already thought of ourselves.

Second of all, what is up with the attendance stat? What are you trying to say? Surely the 108 more people Memphis averages doesn't make them so much greater than KU.
