The search feature didn't work last time I tried, so I thought I'd just ask.

Was it a 5th and 6th rounder for R-Kal?

A six-pack of Royal Crown Cola and a Cookie Rojas rookie card.

Yes, 5th and 6th in the upcoming draft...

I wonder what compensation we'll get for losing Tait to free agency....

Not bad.

Hopefully we use them wisely.

i dont think it can be 2 fifths...

a team doesnt naturally ever have 2 picks in the same round

and i dont think they can trade compensation picks or previously traded picks.

Pretty sure he got hurt last game. Could that effect the compensation?

I thought they had an extra fifth. But yeah it's a 5th and a 6th

I'm not worried, that's Carl's round baby!

Carl's last five 5th rounders:

2003 Jordan Black
2002 Scott Fujita
2001 Billy Baber
2001 Derrick Blaylock
2000 Dante Hall

Plus Jared Allen was picked toward the very end of the 4th round this year, so he was almost a 5th, and Carl also picked up Joe Horn in the 5th round back in 1996.... without even looking at it I can almost guarantee that Carl has had much more success with 5th rounders than 2nd rounders...

It's a damn good thing. We need all the picks we can get. We need to get a stud in the first round and if we have several late rounders, I think they should consider trading up for quality players. Enough with the projects on the first day. Have some pride Carl and turn this shipwreck around, you vacationing douchebag.

I've heard that is because they actually start listening to their scouts at that point. I don't know how accurate that is, but that's what I've heard.

Yes, it could. That was the worst thing that could have happened for us. But, it's also based on paycheck and he broke the bank. I'd say we have a solid #4 locked up. Hopefully a #3, but that doesn't happen very often. If the Niners had lost TO via UFA rather than trade, he'd have fetched a #3.

I'm trying to remember the last time we got more than a 6th...

You are correct about compensation picks, but previously traded picks received can be traded.

Two fifths of what? Jack Daniels, Crown Royal?

We're going to get the 3 back for Welbourn, plus a probable 4th round compensation pick for Tait, PLUS the 5th and 6th round picks for R-Kal.

I like. :)

And we'll probably lose a 4th instead of the 3rd for Welbourne.

Welbourne's injury helps and hurts us. He doesn't meet the playing time criteria for giving the 3rd to Philly. However, who is playing in his place? UFA Bober.... If Bober and Dalton continue to perform at a high level, it is going to offset the loss of Tait, especially since Tait is injured. We may not get any compensation picks.

I would rather have an accomplished pass rusher than Holliday and a 5th and a 6th.
