All the Chiefs need to get back to the SB is a go-to WR, a shut-down corner, a decent rush end, and a LB that can tackle people.
It's only one draft! Ohhhhh, this team is close, I can feel it.

IMHO, we need 5 playmakers on D.

DE
MLB
CB
SS
OLB

Time will tell if Parker can be any good.

After all, it is a large portion of this BB that thinks we need to let all of our players develope into fine players , time is no factor to them.

My ideal draft:

1(4). Derrick Johnson, LB, Texas
2(4). Chris Henry, WR, West Virginia
3(4). Bryant McFadden, CB, Florida State
4(4). Dan Orlovsky, QB, Connecticut

I wonder how much better the Chiefs record would be if Bo and Wilson were playing...maybe 4-7 or 5-6?

How much better would they be if they were getting turnovers like last year, as opposed to the way they're coughing it up this year?

What a difference a year makes... to the turnover ratio!! Not to mention the kicks-returned-for-TDs ratio. sheesh...

Highly doubt that. Marc didn't get many balls thrown his way, and Wilson is a rookie. I know they're high on him, but he's still a rookie. Couldn't have made THAT much difference, could he?

I have to agree with most of you. We need TWO linebackers, Fujita is good and we need two others to play along with him. get rid of Barber, he hasn't done anything. we definately need a CB, and isn't this Warfields final year under contract? so basically we are going to need 2 corners if that is the case. we need to replace hicks with either a run-stopper or a pass-rusher, maybe start Allen on the other side. Who knows what Siavii will do for us, but Sims hasn't done anything. Dalton has been solid. we need some safeties.

It totally sucks that it looks like we could be entering the rebuilding years. our offense is only a WR away from being great (if its not already). and our defense is a mess. next year is going to be tough because this was the year we needed to make additions to defense and we didn't. know we have certain players leaving and certain players under contract for a few more years and were will that put us? who knows

Maybe Bo wouldn't drop as many passes or fumble as much as Kennison, but I guess my point was that the Chiefs would still suck.

Too bad Carl Petersons ideal draft is:

1. Some unknown Offensive Tackle from Cal
2. Some unknown running back from UCLA
3. Some backup safety that they will they try and convert to CB from Arkansas State

4. Some backup linebacker/special teams specialist from Virginia somewhere.....

Sigh....

We need a leader on defense, we need a few key signings and a top pick to get in there, hopefully they won't go to shit like our last top signings and top pick.

Actually...

This is the year we can load up with the top rated known quantities in the draft b/c of our draft position.

well history shows what Carl Peterson will do for us with this top rated position. the first rounder will be ineffective the 1st year anyways because we won't sign him

Get back to?

Get back to?

I am one of the few around here that can probably remember the last time we went. I think you would now have to say

All the Chiefs need to get to their first SB in eons....

Hey, those signings were easy to get in camp on time. Try seeing it from Carl's perspective.

I said in another thread that this will be Vermeils last draft EVER and I think he'll have more say than the last couple of years. Then again, given that it is his last year, Carl might not really give him as much input.

Hopefully this is Carls last draft as well. He needs to go after 2005 if he doesnt get fired. His time with this organization has come and gone....hes done all he can do its time for him to move on.

I agree:
1. Mike Vick
2. Randy Moss
3. Terrell Owens
4. Mike Vanderjact

With that offense we should be able to score 70 a game, and that might be enough to win with our defense.

Maybe 4 players away on the CURRENT roster. How many are we going to lose to retirement this offseason? That's what scares me.

I think the number one thing we are missing on D is a leader. Sure DV and friends like to talk about Hicks being a leader, but since nobody on the Planet can see it on the field, it doesn't exsist. The one person I thought might be able to become one, Woods, should be on the bench.

I don't think any of note. Roaf will stick it out and suck next year, but he'll be back. We'd be smart to rest him now. Holmes isn't going anywhere, he'll have basically 9 months to get ready to go and will be back.

The player I worry about losing is Blaylock.
