Does anybody here think this guy would look good in a Chiefs uniform.

He's fixing to be a free agent at the end of the season, and the guy would be pretty damn good and is what we need in the middle if Rich Scanlon doesnt get a chance.

Look at these stats he has posted for the last 4 seasons.

The guy can Tackle and would look good in a Chiefs uniform, so is there anybody hear that would rather give him a chance or stick with a raw and never gonna be a good linebacker like Kawika Mitchell.

Getting Hartwell would be huge for our defense.

I think it would help Fujita out alot having a stud MLB to play alongside of him, behind our young DT. We would then beable to see if Biesel or Mitchell could play the outside, and we should also draft a OLB in the draft in one of the first 3 rounds.

I also think by getting Hartwell, we could then focus at CB in the draft. I would love to draft a stud DE high in the draft, I think it would help our young DTs, and set up a nice young dline for years to come. But I really think we could get by with a starting dline of Allen, Sims, Dalton, Browning, and have Saivii to keep the DT frersh or hopefully earn a starting spot. We need to cut Holiday and Hicks, they bring nothing positive to this team.

In an Ideal world we would have an offseason where we do the following:

Sign Hartwell
draft a CB in round 1
draft a DE in round 2 (Roth from Iowa?)
draft an OLB in Round 3

Other FA should be CB (Is Smoot a FA?)

I also think we should look arounf for a FA Saftie to replace Woods. I wonder what would happen if we could get a FA saftie, then move Woods to a nickel back, Its a ton of $$$ to pay a nickel, but I think our only other option is cutting his ass.

III.........Unless the Chiefs had 2 top 10 picks, there is NO WAY they could land both Rolle and Johnson.

I'd like to see the Chiefs make a move for a FA LB like Hartwell...but I'd like to see who is available, and if Hartwell re-signs with balt.

Draft Rolle in the first, Roth(DE, IA) in the 2nd.

I think Roth will go in the 2nd......he's a high motor guy......just what the defense needs.

I know Iowanian i realized that after i posted it, Dad brought up how it would be great to trade all the rest of our picks so that we could get both Rolle and Johnson and he was saying that while i was posting that.

But I finally changed it. But I think I would rather have Johnson over Rolle and get Baxter as a free agent and Hartwell, and about me putting Cody down, HELL NO, the guy has personal problems, like depression, so forget about him.

If we take another DE it needs to be Matt Roth from Iowa.

He is being compared as a poor mans Roy Williams.

Yes, the tag is available every year unless the franchised player signs a long term contract while under the tag. That's typically why the player signs a long term deal after signing the one year tender.

I don't know that the Chiefs would have anyone they'd need or want to use a Franchise tag on.........Most of the starters and all of last years probowlers are under contract, and they won't want to pay Blaylock Franchise tag money(average of top 10?)

Notes: A poor man's Roy Williams...Should be one of the first safeties off the board and be able to make an impact early in his pro career.

That would be awesome, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

I think if we were able to sign those three players before the draft, and theb drafted a CB, OLB, and DE in the first 3 rounds we would be in great shape for 2005 and the future.

IMHO,Hartwell will stay in Balt. I just don't see them letting him go.

Sign Baxter, draft Rolle.... maybe a guy like Mitchell MLB @ OU would be available in the 3rd , (yes, he would be better that the Mitchell we currently have )

Use the 2nd rd for DE, maybe WR.

The Chiefs would be fools not to get( Hartwell ) him if they could. BTA, we are talking about CP.

Thats the defense I want now expect for Dalton for Siavii. After I figured out Johnson was an outside linebacker.

They won't take him as a high 1st and it's doubtful he'll be around long in the 2nd. That is unless we trade down for more draft picks. The guys a tackling machine. He's a stud. Hell KC will probably end up drafting a couple of safetys to convert anyway.:banghead:

Why would the Chiefs need to draft another MLB? They've already got #91 activated....Haven't seen much of Scanlon. But I know Ruud is in the same class with him and Allen as far as a motor, instincts and such. Plus he's a natural MLB. Set the school record this year for career tackles which stood for 35 yrs.:thumb:

If we can't get Johnson in the first or sign a MLB then Ruud would be my choice. Its nice alot of the stud defense players this year are in the Big 12 region. We actually get to know something about them.

Actually, I see us finishing bad enough to pick 3rd to 6th. I could see Ruud lasting until the first 5 or so picks of the 2nd round.

Rolle in the 1st, Ruud in the 2nd would be a KILLER draft.

I think Rolle's stock will drop after he runs the 40 for the scouts. You don't get picked in the top 10 if you don't run at least a 4.44. I wasn't impressed with him when I watched them play Louisville. Hell, I think Buchanon was a better prospect, and he lasted until the teens.

I'm on the Ahmad Brooks bandwagon.

Of course in that game, I don't remember hearing too much about Mr. Ray Lewis either other than Jordan Black pancaking him.

Ravens run the same defense we used with Gunther the first time around. 3-4 Falcon type. Suggs plays the Falcon. But they are basically a 3-4 team.

The "Falcon" was not a 3-4 defense. The Falcon was more of a 5-2 defense, but the base was always a 4-3.

And the Ravens play a pure 3-4 defense.

It would be if the linebackers (other than DT) were lining up in a 3-4, but they weren't.

Wayne Simmons was lining up OUTSIDE the TE on the strong side.
