This doesn't look like a real promising thread topic, but you'll probably make something out of it.

It's not completely secret, but I usually don't run around telling people that I think Carl Peterson should stay until he decides he's tired of his job and I hope he doesn't do that until he retires from football altogether.

Otter's secret vice is clown porn.

Years ago when I was in Philly visiting a friend they were filming a gay clown porno down the road. We walked by and there were guys in robes and slippers with clown makeup and hair outside smoking and chatting like they were on a coffee break.

That didn't help the whole clown situation much.

I'm supposed to be a professional kind of guy, but I love those little Jiffy corn breads. My wife teases me about it, saying that it's an Ozarks welfare kind of food, but I can't help it. I love the stuff.

My card's junk, from what I hear. Intel 64 mb "extreme graphics". The reqs say 32mb will do, but I've been told it's probably the card.

2.6gb celeron.. 256 mb RAM (256 is the minimum required)

Yeah, that's an onboard video card. It shares system memory.

You seriously need to upgrade. If you aren't interested in blowing the bank, I'd reccomend a Geforce FX 5200 (what I have) and some more RAM. At least another 256.

And David. you are correct, you don't need a high-end video card for most games. But if you wanted to run most games at full detail with all the bells and whistles you do.

Of course it's hard to tell a difference on a shitty laptop screen.

I love Magnum P.I.

The feud between Higgins and Magnum was priceless.

My favorite episode was when Higgins was flying his remote control airplane around, then all of suddenly it blew up in mid-air. The next thing you see is Magnum walking back into the house with his bath rope on and a double barrel resting on his shoulder.ROFLROFL

I see no reason why that should be considered a secret vice, that was a good show.

Now that they finally got season one out on DVD, I hope they hurry up with the remaining seven.

At least a 128 card, preferably a 256 card. GeForce seems to have the market now, with the usual best deals, but you can always find others.

How much RAM do you have and what kind of game are you thinking about? RAM is relatively inexpensive and you should probably have at least 512MB before you do anything else. 1 GB would be even better, but at 512 MB your next most impactful (albeit more expensive) upgrade is probably the vid card.

I don't have any vices either, but this thread reminds me of a true story....

Once, I was browsing a neighbors garage sale and noticed she had a book on Celine Dione. I walked to the front of the garage acting like I was about to leave.... The lady running the garage sale asked if I was looking for anything in particular.

I asked if she had any Celine Dione memorabilia. She nearly had a heart attack running to go get that book while I'm ROFL. It took her a second to realize that I was jerking her chain.... Then she gave me a bunch of shit free. She tried to give me some Chiefs windbreakers, but I couldn't have worn them out in public....

As far as video cards go, RAM is secondary, you need to look at the GPU speed, that's what counts. RAM is nice, but my 256 MB card gets raped by a different 128 MB card. BUT if you have anything below 128 - that's pretty damn slow.

My comp specs at home:
Athlon XP3000+
512 PC3200 RAM
GeForce 5600 (256MB)
180 Gig HDD

And it still can't handle most of the new games like I want it to. KCMizzou, no offence, but if you want to play games like they were meant to, you need to get a new computer, ASAP.

David, laptops suck for gaming. You can't upgrade a laptop, unless you are upgrading RAM, or it's an Alienware laptop (they make them upgradable), in which case you wouldn't even want to. And JBret, they do make good video cards for laptops.

As for my vices... I like to toss midgets.

But really now, what has become of O.J.? He was set for life financially, had a good gig as a sports broadcaster, and was respected with in reason.

Now, he may be walking around free, but all that he had before is gone. He is a laughing stock, because everyone knows he did it. He even has to fight to be able to see his kids. He "got away with it" in the technical sense, but his life has GUILTY stamped all over it.

You can win the Heisman, set the single-season rushing record, do rental car commercials, act in Leslie Nielson movies, and even be a national sportscaster, but as soon as you kill two people in cold blood and buy your way out of the justice system, people are going to forget about all that other stuff and just dwell on the bad things.
