Man Demanding Prayers with Gibson to Stand Trial
Thu Dec 2, 3:52 PM ET
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A drifter who repeatedly demanded to pray with "Passion of Christ" movie director Mel Gibson (news) was ordered to stand trial on Thursday on charges of stalking.
Zack Sinclair, 34, was arrested in October after arriving unannounced at Gibson's Malibu home saying he wanted to pray with him, and turning up at a chapel where Gibson, a devout Catholic, attends mass on Sundays.
In court papers, Gibson said the man had also sent him numerous letters insisting they should pray together. Gibson said he found the letters "alarming, harassing and annoying."
"The Passion of the Christ," Gibson's graphic account of the last hours of Jesus, provoked much controversy in the United States but became a box office success and has grossed over $600 million in worldwide ticket sales.
Sinclair, a homeless man who is now in jail, was ordered to stand trial by a Los Angeles area judge. Gibson, through his spokesman, declined comment on the judge's ruling.

Cmon, Mel. Jesus would even go visit him in prison...
Heh, you take any chance you can to knock on Christians. I don't know all the details but, if the man seemed to be "not right" mentally, then I don't see the problem. Otherwise, maybe Gibson needs to pray about his reactions to the situation.

Actually, I'm Christian. I take any chance to knock on people who are being hypocrites. It that happens to be another Christian, then so be it.
My point in this was that this man was harassing Mel. He deserves to be in jail... Can you think of any other hot discussions going on where a Christian or group of Christians were harassing other people, and probably deserve to be in jail themselves?

You mean going to their houses or invading their church services like this guy did?
Nope, I haven't seen any.

Ah... If we narrowly define harassment enough, we can make it ok.
I've always found it amusing that the folks who consider themselves to be the "real" Christians will bend over backwards to discriminate against the sinners that they're judging, but don't have the flexibility in themselves to show an ounce of empathy for anyone who thinks differently than they do.

If you can't see the difference between stalking someone at their home and going to a rally in a public place then you are blind.

Taco's troll thread is not doing nearly as well as the one he's attempting to spin off of.

That's all it is. Attempting to compare felonious stalking on private property to protesting in a public forum is pathetic.

Harassment is harassment.
I think we'd need to see the police report in both cases before judging their actions. But moreover, it's not their actions that I was interested in, so much as it was the reactions of people to this story in comparison.
And I got what I thought I would get.

So in your mind Bush is harrassed everytime a group gathers to protest him? Say for example when he was visiting Canada!

Gibson seems to be a tad fruity...perhaps this is a good thing.

I'm still trying to figure out how this guy got up to Gibson's house in the first place.

I believe "ignore" or "dodge" will be a used tactic to your question.

ROFL either you were too young or not even born when Johnson and Nixon were Presidents. Bush leads a happy time parade compared to the harrassment those two Presidents experienced.
