View Full Version : So now where do we stand? Do we still have a top 5 draft pick?

Did this win over the Raiders bump us down to a 7th or 8th draft pick? It's nice to win, but I'd hate to have the Raiders right above us in the draft. This season is over. It's all about 2005 now!!

You "Lose-Chiefs-Lose!!!" folks, here's all the proof you need to show you you're barking up the wrong tree: Your comrade here is the Official ChiefsPlanet BB Mongoloid.

1) 49cents...........1-11
2) Dolphins...........2-10
3) Browns............3-9
4) Cards..............4-8 (0.457895)
5) Saints.............4-8 (0.473684)
6) Titans.............4-8 (0.505263)
7) Skins..............4-8 (0.507937)
8) RAIDERS..........4-8 (0.542105)
9) Chiefs.............4-8 (0.549738)
10) Cowboys........4-7 (0.526316)

If the Cowboys lose, that will drop both of us down to 9 and 10, respectively.

We'll only win one more game the rest of the year, at best, so it doesn't matter where we currently are.

The win was good for player moral, but for draft positions, it sucked.

We need the Cards, Saints, Titans, Skins and Raiders to go on a hot streak and win some games.

Not gonna happen with that strength of schedule and us on the schedule on more time.

1) Consistently drafting in the top 5 has not helped teams like the Cardinals over the years.
2) Smart drafting can still get impact players later in the draft and sometimes after the draft. For example: Terrel Davis, Anquan Boldin, Tom Brady, Rod Smith, Tony Richardson, etc.
3) High draft choices are not guaranteed success. For example: Ryan Leaf.

Good, some common sense.

It doesn't matter if we draft #5 or #10. It's who we pick. And who will realize the outcome until some years down the road.

Same with all the talk on trading Larry Johnson. It ain't going to happen. I see Priest here one more year, Blaylock moving on, and with all the injury potential of Priest, Larry Johnson could be the main man quicker than we all think.

Chiefs are different. We need a couple DECENT players on D to SOMETIMES stop opponents' offenses and we win it all.

Hey... we went into this game at #8. We lose to the lowest form of disgusting slime in all of football, and we end up at #8 again? This has gotta be some kinda frikkin' conspiracy....

Will be IRONIC when the Raiders take Antrelle Rolle and stop the chiefs pass attack.

Maybe the Def. end from Wisconsin for the Chiefs now.

Although not a top 5, wasn't Ryan "I Suck" Sims pick 6?

I know my eyes are getting older ... in fact Cataract surgery on Wed. but .... I do not see one Chief in the list that you made....

Meaning Kingless can't draft... he did hit the jack pot with D.T. so as was just said above .. maybe if he has a top 5 then he will not mess it up as much!!!

But, I think we may win out.... which will screw the whole thing up!!!

I used to think this way. But then the Chiefs did not really improve even with some great players we picked up early, Art Still, Mike Bell et al. The biggest change we could make that would help us in the draft would be to change the people who make the decisions as to whom we take. We have not drafted a Pro Bowl player since Tony G. Even drafting towards the middle late first round, you should have some players develop. And our 2nd rounders have been consistently horrid.
We need to beat Denver and Oakland in our house. That's six wins and middle of the pack again for drafting. This team has many of the pieces in place to win a championship, but the pieces that are not there only magnify how far away we are. I have never rooted for the Chiefs to lose, and I'm not going to do so now. I've been a Chiefs fan for 35 seasons now and they haven't been to the Super Bowl in 36. There is nothing to lead me to believe that my 36th season of watching the Chiefs will not pan out.
I only long to see the headlines SUPER CHIEFS

Saying that a better draft pick means a better draft is like saying it's going to be a better movie if I get my tickets first...
