One of the worst movies ever. I hear it caused riots in Detroit.

I hated it. But I also went in expecting more Platoon type action.

I'm considering giving it a second chance...nah, it sucked.

A war movie with very little/no war.

Arthouse pansy snooze fest.

It seriously passed over me like rain water. Can't remember much of anything except a string of gauzy dream sequences.

Only if the chick was asleep.

I remember lots of long screen images of birds chirping in trees.

Its been a while since i have seen it but I thought it was terribly boring. And i dont have a problem with slowly paced or overly long movies either.

I thought it was allright, although admittedly a little devoid of action.

IT'S BRILLIANT

It had the unfortunate timing of being released about 6 months after Saving Private Ryan came out. It was unfairly compared to that film at the time and by comparison suffered. I think most people were expecting more action. Its basically an "art film" wrapped in a WW2 package.

This is one of the most atrocious films ever made. I absolutely despised it. Ed Wood could have made a better war movie.

So which would you prefer on a deserted Island? Donnie Darko or Thin Red Line?

Count Zarth

Mark Hamill is in it. IT'S STUPENDOUS!

No, dumbass, that's The Big Red One. The Thin Red Line made The Big Red One look like Citizen Kane.

Bamboo under the fingernails > The Thin Red Line.

The title "The Thin Red Line" actually refers to the slits in the wrists of audience members halfway through the movie.

I haven't seen Thin Red Line. Reading some of these reviews, I doubt I will waste my money. I did see The Big Red One with Lee Marvin and yes, Mark Hamill many times. I thought it was an awesome WWII movie.
