Syracuse has this guy who can play the middle and is a complete stud. You are stupid if you don't think he is the greatest player ever. He's utterly dominant in college, and if he just got a cha... ah, screw it.

8 guys practicing today for Memphis due to injuries, and one of the starters already has 4 fouls. Wow..this will be ugly.

They usually show the entire "Jimmy V - ESPY" speech during this.... might be my favorite speech of all-time.

I was a student at the University of Houston and was at that game at the "PIT" in Albuquerque when my Cougars were upset by the the N C State Wolfpack. I was in absolute tears, along with Olajuwon and Drexler and every UH fan, as I just couldn't understand how Phi Slamma Jamma could have lost (Well maybe had we made fuggin free throws). In hindsight, I must admit that I'm glad that Jimmy V. won the National Championship that year, especially when you consider what was to come and that Clyde came back home to Houston and was able to win a NBA Title with Olajuwon. :thumb:

and an intentional foul on Memphis (Carney). 29-10.That was ****ing clownshoes. Guy gets elbowed in the chest, so he retaliates, and NATURALLY, only the guy in the blue jersey can do anything wrong.

We sucked ass, of that there was no doubt, but the refs were ****ing ridiculous. Banks gets anally penetrated while driving to the basket? No call. Dorsey cleanly blocks a shot with no contact whatsoever with a hand? Foul. D-Wash gets hammered with a swat from behind, or Erwin gets his arm hacked on a shot? No foul.

Every time we tried to dig ourselves out of the ****ing hole, a string of calls would push us right back down.

We didn't deserve to win, but even if we had played well, if the refs had called it like that, we wouldn't have had a chance.

I love the story about his first speech to the freshman team at Rutgers, I still laugh every time... then two minutes later he's giving you goosebumps...

Jimmy V was a cheater. I'm sure he was a good guy, and all, but if he hadn't died of cancer, he would have eventually been looked down on as another Tarkanian.
