I'm developing a seating chart.

Poll forthcoming, after these exciting sneak previews.

Aisle seat, half way up. If you're sitting in my seat, I'll follow you home and sit outside your house for half an hour, before thinking better of it and going to the bar.

Unless it's a Dawn of the Dead remake I watch movies on my couch in my jamies while sipping a cold one.

Dead center of the theater.

Or, usually where the dumbass parents bring a 4 year old to some R rated horror flick.

Dead Center. Half way back from the screen and dead center. I always show up early to get my seat.

I have to sit on an aisle, and I usually sit about 2/3rds to 3/4ths of the way back. That lets me keep an eye on all of the other people, none of whom I trust.

My exception is a nearby theater with stadium seating. In that one, there are two sections with an aisle between them that's parallel to the screen and also serves as handicapped seating/parking. If you sit in the front row of the second section, you get to stretch your legs out into the handicapped seating area.

Stadium seating... not the front (floor) section, but the first row of the stadium section. Just above the wheelchair spaces. Aisle seat.

They usually have a railing there where I can put my feet up, and that row has the rocker seats (which are much better than the "love seat" type in the other rows).

I haven't been to a movie since 1961. Do they still have balconies?

Back row, right of center.

Best place to get a hummer during a non-crowded feature presentation.

I rarely go but when i do its usually somewhere in the middle near the aisle.

61 in the middle is preferable, but really anywhere where I can sit in the middle of the row and not way down in front is fine.

I despise the aisle. Makes me feel like I'm watching a cam version on my PC at home with the odd angle.

Also I hate sitting next to strangers.

this poll is flawed with a capital F.

I try to anticipate the length of the screen and sit that far back, and as close to the center line as possible. Cone of vision, you know. Now since your poll is based on the percent of rows, that can vary from one theater to another, depending on the size and the configuration of the hall.

I figure in most theaters that seat would be in the 21 to 40 percent of the way back from the screen. So I voted that way, albeit begrudgingly. :harumph:

Back row center. I hate people that feel the need to kick my seat repeatedly during a movie or using my it as a foot rest. And that way I can watch everyone in the theater in case of some sorta terrorist activity.

The above is for stadium seating. For the older theaters if there is a middle section and two 'wing sections' I like sitting in an aisle seat in the wing section no heads blocking my view.

Depends on how the seating is arranged. If it is a stadium style arrangement my preference is to be about halfway up and in the middle. However, I usually do not sit there because it seems like I always have some annoying person behind me. So I settle for the very back as close to the middle as I can get.

Would you like to step outside and say that?

(I'm hoping it's really cold outside so he'll catch a cold or something.)

I think the last time I saw a movie in the theater was at The Loft in Tucson. The front row had couches. So, I sat on a couch w/ the girl I was w/. If it wasn't for the fact that we were so comfortable on the couch, I would've walked out of that movie. Seriously. Coffee & Cigarettes is a shitty, shitty movie.

People have gotten so rude that it takes a lot to get me to the theater anymore. Even when a BIG SCREEN movie hits, we go at an off-time matinee to avoid the holes.

Only a silly joke. The attempt was to point out, in a light hearted way, about being vulnerable to other forms of affliction when you think that way. Silly jokes aren't supposed to make much sense. Relax.

I also go to matinees mostly. It's mainly because of less people in the theater (I hate someone's head blocking a third of the screen, someone else kicking the back of my seat every 38 seconds and hate missing the first 31 minutes of the dialogues due to the pop-corn munchers concert). But another consideration is..... IT'S CHEAPER! :)
