View Full Version : Chiefs all time "name" team

Frankie

OK, joining the Chiefs bandwagon in the Stram era, I have noticed that his teams were dominated by nice "Football" names. Names like Hill, Lanier, Buchanan, Lynch, Bell, etc. Taking a page from Rainman, I'm launching this thread for you nominations. Let's see if we can come up with a Chiefs team with memorable names.

Rules:

The players qualified have to have meant something (positive) to the Chiefs in addition to having a great name. Common, bland names are no good. Smith, Jones, Johnson etc are too common and bland. Neither is Dawson (sorry Lenny). An example of the other side of the coin is, I thought Percy Snow had a pretty memorable name. But he does not count because he meant practically nothing to the Chiefs.

I'll start with Otis Taylor as my all time Chiefs name. Other WRs with good names: Stephon Paige and Henry Marshall

QBs: Joe Montana, Trent Green

The game's afoot.
BTW,ALL planeteers are welcome on this thread.

Bah. Some of the best names didn't do squat on the field.

Mention some. We can put together a Chiefs should-have-been name team as well. Would be kinda fun.

MLB- Percy Snow

I'm hoping for Keyron Fox to pan out. He has such a great name.

I considered it, but it sounds a bit goofy. Like the sound of swallowing a large (OK wait for the end of the sentence you gutter-heads) gulp of water.

Ed Budde or Mo Moorman would be better choices.

Hill sounds short,to the point, and tough to me. The other two, while ghreat players, sported goofy sounding names IMO.

BTW, Dartgod, if you disagree with some of my selections, please copy/paste my "so far" post into your own editable post. That goes for everybody. It would be fun to have several continuously developing rosters. :)

Without going through all of the posts, the best Chiefs name ever is Dino Hackett.

I also wouldn't want to tangle with a guy named Rich Baldinger.

Elmo Wright was always a cool name, too, as well as Ed Podolak.
