Knorr's Broncos tenure ended after playing in parts of three seasons for the club. He joined Denver halfway through the 2002 season after the team released longtime punter Tom Rouen, and handled punts and kickoffs for the 36 regular-season games since.

Knorr ranked 21st in the NFL in gross punting average this season, averaging 41.5 yards per kick. His net average of 34.2 yards represented a 2.0-yard improvement over last season, but it still ranked last in the NFL among players with at least 50 punts so far this season. His career net average is 33.5 yards.

Baker's career net average is 33.2 yards, with a career high of 35.2 with the San Francisco 49ers in 2001.

Knorr was the AFC's Special Teams Player of the Week back in Week 1 after booting touchbacks on six of seven kickoffs and posting a gross average of 56.5 yards on two punts. In the 11 games since, Knorr notched touchbacks on eight of 54 kickoffs, and notched a touchback on one of 27 kickoffs away from Denver.

Baker had touchbacks on two of 33 kickoffs during his four-game stint as the Colts' kickoff specialist, which began on Nov. 14 against the Houston Texans and ended four days ago. After serving as a full-time punter for the 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs during the 2001, 2002 and 2003 seasons, respectively, he only punted in two games for the Colts, averaging 37.8 yards on nine punts.

Indianapolis waived Baker on Wednesday after signing former Tampa Bay Buccaneers Pro Bowler Martin Gramatica to serve as the Colts' kickoff specialist. Gramatica was waived by the Buccaneers nine days ago after enduring a two-month slump.

We should pickup Knorr. From what I remember he was really good on kickoffs and he's probably a better holder than Cheek.

My position is firm: draft a new punter.

The day Denver let Tom Rouen go was a bad day. Rouen was an excellent punter who was also the holder for Elam.
Knorr sucks and Baker sucks worse. The wheels have not flown off the wagon yet but they sure are a-whobblin'

This could be a brilliant strategic move. They've picked up a punter who guarantees Dante won't get a return. Hard to get loose in the open field on a 20 yard punt or one that lands in the seats.

Seriously though has Knorr really been that bad? I mean that bad as in worse than Baker?

ROFL "And Denver set to punt from the 25... Dante Hall stands back at the 50 waiting to return it..."
