KNORR IN STORE ?

Oh boy, this should be interesting !

http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/sports/10390656.htm

The Chiefs are considering bringing in punter/kickoff specialist Micah Knorr for a workout. Knorr was released Thursday by the Broncos and replaced by former Chiefs' punter Jason Baker.

Knorr's net average of 34.2 yards per punt is 13th in the AFC but that's still better than Chiefs' punter Steve Cheek, whose 31.1 net average ranks 16th. Knorr leads the NFL in touchbacks on kickoffs with 15.

Maybe we could trade receivers with them, too.

He also benefited from the altitude in Denver.

Playing in Denver a kicker should lead the NFL every year in touchbacks

looks like the same for the invescos, unless this is just another scapegoat firing.

After doing a little lurking around www.orangemane.com, the consensus among Denver fans was that Knorr sucked big time the past 5 games or so. His punts and kickoffs were horrible apparantly?? Wait till they get a look at Baker! hahahah

signing Kennison got the Chiefs a passing game. Dalton has brought some passion to the defense. Bring on that ex-bronco. Hell, If I remember right Crockett was good his first season here

Knorr has sucked the last few games... not a scapegoat, but he's just flat out sucked.

i hate it when they call it a WORKOUT. They come in and kick a bunch of balls. it's not like they had him run the 40 or anything

I wished DV's impatience with kickers/punters would rub on of his feelings of Defensive players. If any of these kickers/punters were playing D he'd still be talking them up.

i wonder, though, what will happen now that gun is here and presumably will have some input in defensive personnel...

it would be nice to see some real changes on d...

(well, it doesn't hurt to be optimistic, does it? )

Personally I want to see us stick with both Tynes and Cheek. They are young and will do nothing but get better. As my mother says all the time, "changing horses in midstream does nothing but get you wet."

By that reasoning, Plummer should be gone next...

Yeah, but he's had many more good games than bad this year ... same can't be said for Knorr. Nice try though.

I think it is safe to say plummer has had more then 5 bad games this year...

young kickers take a little while to become consistent...

look at todd sauerbrun...

he sucked so bad when he was here that the chiefs let him go...

now he's all pro, isn't he?

He is exactly who I was thinking of. He has been to several Pro Bowls in a row now for the Panthers I believe. You just never know with kickers.

i think cheeks will be a good punter once he settles down a little...

and it seemed like tynes' kickoffs were a lot better in the raiders game...

i'd hate to see us take somebody that has been good and now seems to suck...

knorr is going in the wrong direction (getting worse instead of better)...

I'd agree with your mom on the horses thing. But we are talking about pro football here. Anytime you get a chance to upgrade your team you do it.

+----------+--------------------------+----------------+
| WK OPP | CMP ATT PYD TD INT | RSH YD TD |
+----------+--------------------------+----------------+
| 1 kan (win) | 18 29 230 2 2 (avg) | 7 33 0 |
| 2 jax (loss)| 23 39 250 0 0 (avg)| 6 24 0 |

| 4 tam (win) | 13 31 138 1 0 (avg) | 5 18 0 |
| 5 car (win) | 17 29 226 2 2 (avg) | 4 8 0 |
| 6 oak (win) | 11 20 190 3 1 (good)| 1 15 0 |
| 7 cin (loss) | 23 40 221 1 2 (bad)| 1 3 0 |

| 12 oak (loss) | 14 23 245 1 1 (avg)| 5 18 0 |
| 13 sdg (loss) | 16 40 278 0 4 (bad)| 2 6 0

So, there's his stats and the games they lost.

He's had 5 games with 2 or more INTs. 2 wins and 3 losses. I give him 2 utterly bad game and that was last week and Cincy. Also, you can point to the defense (ie- Bailey) being a big reason for them losing there as well.

The Falcons game was mixed b/c he had almost 500 yds and 4 TDs, throwing 55 times.

The last 2 losses have been bad, but are not all on Plummer's head.

Sauerbruns problem has never been a lack of leg. Hes always been able to boot it. Hes main problem is too much leg. He outkicks his coverage on a consistant basis and cant pooch punt when need be. Every team he has been with including us have said the same thing about him.

nah, more like the season is over so let's start holding auditions for a new punter for next season.

also we may be looking at a way to avoid the draft pick for cheek.

i don't know what the pick is based on(playing time??)

No, I have been told a thousand times by broncos fans, A Win or Lose is soley on the QB... Kind of like you blame the punter if your people blow tackles on a return, it is on the punter for the bad punt...

1.)he had a horrible game in jacksonville you guys scored six points... He was incapable of moving the ball..

2.)he had a horrible game agianst a weak ass tampa bay team... Seriously they took you to overtime because plummer couldnt hit open recievers..

3.)horrible game agianst cinci.. he should not even been on the field...

4.)Atlanta was another horrible game just because you managed to let Vick to look like an allstar, but that is not agianst plummer, what is agianst plummer is he was forced to be the man and he threw 3 ints... In big games this is plummers mantra, throw ints..

5.)Oakland another game plummer lost, seriously how is this not a bad game... Oakland defense is horrible, Plummer agian couldnt move the ball down the field effectivly with his weapons.. Oakland is ranked worse the KC on defense...

6.)San Deigo is all his fault.. He is a effing nfl QB, how many years does he need to learn to throw the ball low so it is not tipped up??? That and some foolish ass fades...

Your team has its victories because of everyone but plummer... You could have one all those exact same games you have with your backup or even Couch back there...

Unfortunatly for you, He is a very streaky QB... Just like your punter, which is the point...
