This is going to be ugly, ever play for Pitt State is wide open. Even when they tackle philpot falls forward for 5 extra yards

Pitt States kickoffs look like the Chiefs.

Megbert
12-11-2004, 03:24 PM
Man Valdosta looks outmatched OH and I take my comment back about PS Kickoffs looking like the Chiefs

12-11-2004, 03:25 PM
Pitt State has kicked off 3 times in the first 7 1/2 minutes.

I noted the Pitt State fans have been awfully quiet for a while now.

19-17 Valdosta State on the fumbled punt/safety.

Touchdown, Valdosta State.

That was some seriously Robinson-esque tackling going on there. Was he helping Pitt State to prepare for the playoffs?

Pitt State pulling a Mizzou. Down 28-17.

Touchdown, Gorillas.

Seems like the change in QBs helped out a bit. Philpot is a good runner, but this kid seems better equiped to take on Valdosta.

Pitt TD. Down 26-24.

And Valdosta marches right back down again.

Starting to look like the KC/Indy game here.

And now, Pitt fumbles on their own 30. This could get ugly quick

TD Pitt. Down 36-31.

And Pitt State gets a little closer. The question is, can their defense actually come up with a stop?

Demonpenz
12-11-2004, 05:54 PM
You can tell this is DII not much hitting out there

Misplaced_Chiefs_Fan
12-11-2004, 06:01 PM
Wow, Valdosta got away with that fake punt. Might be the nail in Pitt State's coffin

Misplaced_Chiefs_Fan

Holy Kraut, Pittsburg State blew up that screen pass!

Chief Defenders. . . take notes!

Misplaced_Chiefs_Fan
12-11-2004, 06:05 PM
Wow that was almost a disaster!

Luckily, I don't think it would have counted. The replay clearly showed the Valdosta guy hit the ball before it touched the Pitt State guy. Ball was dead right there.

Missed a PI call on the play before the INT.

What a way to end that season. Would make someone think maybe they had a soft schedule.

Well, Pitt State had a chance.

Had, being the operative word. That interception just put a serious stake in their heart.

Congrats to the Gorillas on a good season. Represnted the MIAA well.

And the football gods chortled ... maybe next year PSU should not invoke the wrath of the football gods by shamelessly running up the score on lesser opponents. It's not like they have to worry about poll position for the BCS.

The DB did hit him a teeny smidge too early, but he was also making a play on the ball ... a good no-call.

I wonder if KingPriest thinks now that pound for pound they are 2nd place... :)

Aside from NW & PSU, I think the MIAA was a little weak this year.

Congrats to the Gorrillas on a great season.

Great game... when PSU went up 14-0, I figured I'd stick around to see how bad it would get... when Philpot threw the INT though, I started to root for the underdog. There were some huge momentum swings, and PSU couldn't take advantage when it swung their way.

On another note, I was really surprised at the lack of in-game Heisman talk... I remember hearing Ron Dayne's name more than any single NWMSU or Carson-Newman player's name during their second NC game in '99.

What a way to end that season. Would make someone think maybe they had a soft schedule.
