Following with tradition, I bought five pounds of brazil nuts last night to consume during the Christmas season. Other than cashews, by far my favorite nut.
I f*cking hate pecans, however.

Sometimes my nuts smell like expensive cheese. Is this hereditary or hygene related?

Brazil nuts (or whatever you want to call them) are the best natural source of selenium, which is critical for your immune system to function correctly.
Since I started eating a handfull every week a year ago, I haven't been sick at all, even though my kids keep bringing colds home from school.

Now that you mention it...
Anyone ever cracked open a brazil nut and, without looking at or smelling it, popped it in your mouth?
The smell and taste is somewhat akin to stanky choocie.

Depends on how dirty they are, or if those white blisters are rearing their ugly little puss-filled heads again.
