If 7 or 8 years from now the Chiefs had a dominating world beating defense that was feared around the league but an offense that couldn't get it into the endzone worth anything...

Basically the 2004 Bizzaro Chiefs...

At least these games are more entertaining.

I remember always feeling uneasy when the offense had the ball, and felt better when the defense was on the field.

Anybody else used to feel that way too?

It brings up an interesting question:

Would you rather be the Redskins [#2 D & #29 O] or the Chiefs [#2 O & #31D]?

I submit to you that in the modern NFL, it is better to be the Chiefs.

I think that sucked worse...defensive stops are GREAT but they dont add as much fore to a team as an offensive score it seems.

Having said that which one of these teams do you think would have a better chance of being sucessful more so than the other?

This one. At least this one can put points on the board, and points wins games. Like Professor Madden says, "The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.".

I remember those days. :deevee:

The Chiefs need to turn their attention back to defense without letting the dominating offense go away. They can't allow the team to get one sided like they did in the late 90's until now.

Yes, because when the underdog Chiefs came in and dominated the Oilers who went 13-3 and had a bye every one of those fans shit their pants...

I will never forget that game. Me and my old man had such a good time.

Yes. The Chiefs have a better chance to win games because the NFL rules are hideously slanted to the Offense. The NFL wants points and the Defense Homers can go pound sand.

I went to Minn a loong time ago and the Vikings beat us. I also saw them in St. Louis one time. And then I went to the Denver game this year. :shake:

I am 1-2 at away games but that one game was a playoff win so thats cool.

I'm amazed at the number of unbelievably unbalanced teams in the NFL. I think it's a function of the salary cap.

I note that the three powerhouses (and I'd be SHOCKED if anyone other than one of these three won the SB) are balanced.

Scoring stats only (yards are worthless)

Offense:

NE: 4th
Philly: 5th
Steelers: 11th

Defense:

Steelers: 1st
Philly: 3rd
NE: 5th

I'd rather be a top Offense and lose rather than be a top defense and lose. It's much more fun to watch.
