It doesn't matter. No punter can kick well in KC at this time of the year. It's physically impossible.

I wish Vermeil had the same tenacity about performance for Cornerbacks, Right Tackles, Safeties, WRs, LBs and DEs that he does for punters.

Can you name one?

Shane Lechler came in here last year and stunk up the joint.

Who cares at this point in this disaster of a season? This coaching staff must go. I was sure that this staff would be an improvement. WRONG! At least CP has held his ground concerning LJ. The water supply in KC should have anti-depressants added. The sooner, the better.

Why hasn't Vonnie Holliday been put on IR and Montique Sharpe activated from the practice squad?

I wish we could get Brian Moorman from the Bills. The kid is from Kansas, I bet he could punt here fine, he does it in Buffalo good.

Tynes kicks were consistently landing at the 5. Our coverage teams gave up 30 yard returns so instead of risking a runback for a TD they had Tynes kick the ball in the air for more hang time. The ball went shorter but the coverage teams got the ball down at about the same place.

And I'd wager 99% are better than the guys we currently have on roster.:cuss::banghead::banghead::cuss:

thats a good point, but if he could actually kick it into the endzone once ina while we wouldnt have the other problem.ive seen alot more balls end up at the 20 and 25 than the 5.

He's going for hangtime. Those balls don't get returned to the 50.

Very few kicksoffs in the NFL go into the endzone consistently.

He's got an ego, and by Carl if you let somebody else other than him kick off (even though his kickoffs are nothing special) he will slam that punter/kickoff specialist in the media to no end... I'm not sure he's worth the trouble or more importantly the money that he probably thinks he's worth....

Whatever you say, Vanderjagt. :)

Indianapolis average kickoff - 59.3

KC average kickoff - 62.5

Indianapolis average opp. kickoff return - 21.0

KC average opp. kickoff returns - 22.3

KC is ranked 17th in the average kickoff. And 12 in touchbacks.

I would say we are doing OK.

I know, I was just ribbing you because Vanderjagt is always complaining that the Colts expectations of the guy who kicks off are too high... I'm not sure what they are but they expect a certain percentage of balls to be touchbacks, within the 5 yard line, etc...

I can tell you that is not true. Jerrel Wilson used to boom the ball 45 to 50 yards in December in KC, Ray Guy did the same for the Raiders when they would visit.

That's one of the things that pisses me off about DV the most. We only sign players that went to camp with us when someone goes to IR. Even the damned practice squad. We had a TE named Casey Poppinga on teh ps for about a week before bringing back Aaron Galloway to the ps. :banghead:
Just KC chiefs policy i guess.
Why the hell do we even need a personel department? DV makes all the descisions anyway. Carl gives way and when he does put his foot down and overides DV we wind up with a diaper fiasco. :cuss:
