He only had one FG today.

OK.... never mind. But that seems to be how quickly (and radically) opinions are made on this board. :)

His kickoffs blow, his leg was hte main reason we brought him in.

Very few kickers can boom the ball in this kind of weather.

He's done a very good job on his field goals...as long as he continues to do that, we need to hold on to him.

He did a good job of trying to recover that fumble.

Uh, no he didn't.

Uh, no he didn't.

Kickers aren't supposed to recover fumbles.

It was funny, though. ROFL

They sure the f*ck aren't supposed to kick them out of bounds, either. I don't know what was worse, watching Tynes piss himself at the thought of running the ball, or Mitchell dropping the easiest INT ever. :shake:

Hold on a minute.

The temp was -1 according to the TV, do you really expect touchbacks when the ball is hard as a rock?!

Yup...my thoughts exactly.

Not at all. But at least get it past the 25!

His kickoffs have been less than expected this year. I think he has only missed three field goals on the year. He'll be back, and I have no problems with that.

Kind of a Yepremian moment.

Two in one game as I recal. Even the great Jan Stenerude had a couple of games like that.

His kickoffs were terrible today.

When Tynes kicks the ball short, it's because he's going for hang time. If you take notice, those kicks take a few seconds longer to get downfield. He's being instructed to do that because the coverage teams sucks so bad.

Tynes can get the ball to the five consistently if he is instructed to. But less hang time puts our crappy coverage teams at greater risk.

During the first half (the only time I was sober), he seemed to knock most of them inside the five. I missed most of the second half kicks (perfect time to go outside and smoke when drinking), but from what I saw, he wasn't any worse than Dungver.

The Dungver kicks weren't any better.

Disclaimer:

I hope you realize my thread topic was in jest. I like Tynes and have fairly high hopes for him.

If I was his coach we would be doing "fall on the ball" drills all week. I guarantee you he would dive on the loose ball the next time he saw one.

Maybe Tynes should stop playing "Smear the Queer(nttiawwt)". He'll get over his fear of running with a football.

Or at least get between the ball and the sideline.

It reminded me of how Grbac looked when trying to make a tackle.

Sad thing is everyone was calling for his head when he missed a game winning field goal earlier in the season :P
