86%, 35 Miles, 391 seconds (Special thanks to the employee wanting to actually discuss work.)
BTW - The changing state order sort of makes score comparison invalid.

Yeah, no kidding. On my third (and final) try: 96%, 4 miles and 240 seconds. Just a little bit of refamiliarization of state locations, plus the different order, makes a world of difference.
Anyone else think the relative sizes thing is pretty hilarious. Rhode Island is a freaking microscopic dot... Then you get Texas or Alaska...

That was horsecrap ... I was off by like a milimeter on FL and KS and it didn't count it. Totally bogus.
That being said, 80%, avg. error 56 miles (which shows how picky that thing is) and in 180 seconds.
I'll be I can tell you all the state capitals for bonus points ...

98% 1 Mile 539 Seconds. Started off with Missouri, damn its hard to place one of those right on the line, I think I missed it by 5 miles, just NW a little too far. Everything else was right on the dot.

1st try: 88% 34 miles 535 sec
edit:
2nd try: 88% 29 miles 303 sec
really depends on which states they ask for first... if they pick something in the middle with no edge guides it's tough. but if they give you a couple of edge states to start with it helps alot.
