View Full Version : Terrell Owens Has Fractured Fibula and High Ankle Sprain That Will Require Surgery

Just heard on NFL Network...his X-Rays were negative but he had a lot of swelling. This morning he had pain in mid-lower leg as well as the medial side of his ankle. The MRI showed a deltoid ligament sprain and a fractured fibula. TO then went to a specialist in Baltimore and they put him under and twisted his ankle to see if the bones widened when it was twisted. The bones did widen so he is going to have surgery to put bolts in his ankle/leg. The fracture is going to be allowed to heal on its own. The surgery is schedule for Wednesday. The Eagles trainer said that TO will check out the ankle at 3 weeks by riding a bike, he will run at 5 weeks if he is OK and if everything goes really well he could play in the Super Bowl in 7 weeks.

Wow, two posts claiming karma.

Maybe if TO was notorious for dirty play that injured others or something. I don't see how over the top TD celebrations warrant an injury.

I suppose if Morton breaks his arm during a game it'll serve him right for doing the worm.

More updates in the original post above...the real problem according to the trainer is that the high ankle sprain is so bad that it will require surgery. The fractured leg isn't the problem according to the trainer, it is the severity of the ankle sprain.

It's not his celebrations that I can't stand, it's his attitude. I'm not very fond of the my shit doesn't stink attitude. If it wasn't for his tremendous athleticism, he'd be dead by now from a bullet to the head.

I think they can still make it to the Super Bowl... who is better than them in the NFC? Atlanta, maybe. Nobody else in the NFC has a defense except Carolina and they might not get in.

McNabb had better teach him how to play on a busted wheel. This may give the NFC West a chance at making the Super Bowl though!

He may have an ego, but he backs it up with his play.

I still don't view serious injury as appropriate karmic retribution for being full of oneself. But, whatever.

I wouldn't say that mocking Ray Lewis is deserving of an injury. Anyone that does a TD dance on the Star in Dallas should automatically by cantonized. Tough break for TO. Now bad karma for Eagles fan..yes for chearing Michael Irvin almost pulling a Christopher Reeve at the Vet. That was funny though.

The fibula is a non-weight bearing bone. Sometimes they get fixed, sometimes the Doc will just leave it be.

It's not like we're cheering about a career ending injury here. If he was seriously hurt, I wouldn't say a word regardless of how I feel about him. I do feel that what comes around goes around. He talks smack and now he got smacked.

Oh, I'm sure it hurt. Just the fact that you were jarring it with each step made it hurt, plus depending on how severe it was, was it low in leg, middle, high. Some can be pretty nasty. I'm guessing TO's is on the mild end. You hear of some football players playing the rest of the game after breaking their fibula.(mild breaks of course)

The fact that TO's agent fugged up, so TO had to bitch and moan about his contract (that he signed) until SF was forced to trade him, then he whines about going to Baltimore because he doesn't like Boller, and he only wants to play for one team, basically forces the NFL to cater to his whiny ass, then shows no class in calling out Jeff Garcia as gay. Yes, I am happy that TO was slightly injured, and happy that the Eagles now may lose in the playoffs because of it.

Mariucci was so sick of his sh*t that he left SF to go to Detroit. Owens lambasts Greg Knapp in public on the sidelines because he's not getting the ball enough. He makes wearing shorts over his tights a major issue as soon as he gets to Philly. Then in the one game that Philly loses, he has to make an ass of himself on the sidelines by following McNabb up and down the field yelling at him.

This guy is simply a fugging jake off, and he can take his Sharpie and shove it up his ass as far as I'm concerned.

and I think Leftwich in college. Plus some LB for the Raiders some years back. I've seen people walk in before x-ray not knowing what's wrong and find out they have a broken fibula and be totally suprised because they have been walking on it. Not just stress fractures either.

Oh, give me a break already. It's not like I'm cheering his kids' being born with down syndrome or his sudden decapitation. He's got a relatively minor injury that'll take time to heal, but he'll live to taunt another day.

I can't stand the taunting crap. You wanna celebrate? Fine. There's a big difference between Morton doing the worm and what TO does. The whole Dallas star incident (among others) and his constant mouthing to the media about Jeff Garcia's sexuality is way over the line. The guy carries himself with absolutely no class.

He's chosen to make himself a target. Why is it that Jerry Rice has virtually no enemies in the league but TO can't find a d-back that doesn't want to take his head off? Is it just because TO is that good? Please.

As I said, karma is a bitch.
