Ill admit, I thought this was a very bad idea at first. Remake one of the best football movies of all time, with Adam Sandler in the Burt Reynolds role?? But this trailer had me laughing and actually looks pretty damn good...enjoy!

I'll never understand movie remakes. Are we really completely out of new ideas?

Yea, they are also in the Process of remaking Bad News Bears with Billy Bob Thorten in the Buttermaker role as well. I thought this trailer looks pretty damn good. I was pleasantly surprised.

I do believe that will be a good flick. Although I hope they decide not to bring Bernadette Peters around as the secretary this time. She's got to be up there in years.

Oh, and it looks like the cast has some guys it'll be easy to root AGAINST...I hope Guard Garner gets his neck broke.

Probably so, but at the peak of her powers Bernadette Peters was magical. What man (other than maybe Navin Johnson) could resist that pout?

By "pout", you mean "tatas", right?

Bringing in Burt Reynolds as "coach" and recreating some of the originals classic scenes seems to be a nice touch.

It's like a recently-slumping-SNL-crew-rebound-flick...

On a similar note, War of the Worlds ( http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/waroftheworlds/ ) and Assault on Precinct 13 ( http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/assault_on_precinct_13.html ) are also being remade...

'Ehh....

i remember watching longest yard on turner classic movies. Burt and his brother were both in that movie, and there is a spot where they are running together and you slow it down and they run exactly the same. STEP FOR STEP THE SAME. It wasn't that cool.
