Whoa! I didn't think it EVAR snowed down there. When was the last time that area got snow?

I think it snowed once, possibly twice the 9 years I lived in Houston.

Very surprising to me. I just saw on the weather that there was an isolated front over Corpus Christi producing isolated snow. Amazing!!!

I think it was 96 or 97, and my wife and I were spending Christmas at her dad's in Atascosita, a burb NW of Houston. On Christmas eve day, my father in law and I were playing golf...when we teed off on the 18th hole, it was about 70 degrees...by the time we putted out, it was about 55, and dropping fast, with the wind gusting out of the north at about 35 mph. Three hours later, it was 17 degrees and snowing with a wind chill that made it right around 0. IIRC, about 400 homes that night in the Houston area burned to the ground due to improper use of heating systems that hadn't been used in a long time.
That was a weird Christmas.

I didnt see this thread before i bumped the other. It was definatly real snow rather than ice and it was also more than just flurries.

I think it only went as far north as the belt.
