View Full Version : CBS needs to use less of that skycam

It does produce some great shots but it is difficult to watch a entire play from that angle. It needs to be used for replays. The reason that people don't like sitting in the endzone is because they don't like watching football from behind. It is better to watch a game from the side view.

Yeah it really sucks.

They got that from the now defunct Vince McMahon/WWE football league from a few years ago. Apparantly, they think that people are used to playing Madden/Playstation so much that they actually like this angle in real life????

i've thought that, too. it's way overused.

I think it's useful to see the holes open up on kick returns with the skycam. Otherwise **** it..

I agree. It's good for replays, but it shouldn't be the first viewing.

Very true, on replays its nice because you can watch the holes open up as well as the passing lanes. For real time though, screw it.

Yeah, it's very difficult to try to follow it as viewing it. Like Rain Man mentioned, it's perfect for replays, but it was a big adjustment going from the pressbox view to the skycam, and you really can't see almost the whole field on the skycam, compared to the pressbox camera.

when they called me to see how i liked it, i said it was very good. It reminded me of madden. It has been used very effectively and hopefully they go to that quote unquote shot only

I definitely would appreciate it if they only use it for replay. I thought there was some truly shoddy camera work in todays game.

This totally pissed me off. The director should instantly fired.

Save the artsy-fartsy camera work for the f#cking replays. :cuss:

It's a decent angle on kick and punt returns, but it absolutely bites for a regular play. The wide angle totally screws the depth of field and it's nearly impossible to tell the distance without focusing entirely on the yard lines...

I think it's awesome on passing plays, actually.

I knew right who Green was going to throw to on the passes to Jason Dunn and Tony Gonzalez. Sho nuff, he zipped it in there.

Obviously I'm the Chiefs QBOTF.

I figgered I was the only one that it was pissing off...

Damn that was an annoying game to watch with all the artistic camera angles...

I think it's because they had a bunch of women running the cameras.

If one has a front row season tix (like me) the skycam is a better alternative than the boom camera C:BS: put in front of my seat for last year's playoff game.

yea, it sucked especially when Tynes was trying for the 50 yarder.
Couldnt tell if he made it until they showed the replay from the correct angle.
