NFL all-time sack leader...though, I hated that gimme sack by Favre for the record. I'm sure there will be a moment of silence around the NFL games today.

God be with his family and loved ones.

The gimme sack was to Strahan to beat Gastineau's single season record....The actually should have been officially changed by the NFL cause it was a designed QB run and made no attempt to pass.

White dies Sunday morning

Former NFL star Reggie White has died after suffering a massive heart attack Sunday morning at his home near Huntersville, N.C., ESPN's Chris Mortensen has learned.

The former Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles star turned 43 on Dec. 19.

"Today our beloved husband, father and friend passed away," White's wife, Sara, said through a family pastor. "His family appreciates your thoughts and prayers as we mourn the loss of Reggie White. We want to thank you in advance for honoring our privacy."

I loved Reggie White the player but I didn't necessarily agree with his views. They said on ESPN that Reggie gave up on Christianity recently and was studying Hebrew.
Anyway it is truly sad when someone dies at such a young age. It really put things in perspective that we could go at any time.

That devil!

Suzy said something about Reggie realizing that you can't just believe what people tell you and that you have to figure things out for yourself. She said he was studying hebrew so that he could read the scriptures himself.

The article I read on Fox sports said he died of respitory failue due to sleep apnea. Scares the beejezus out of me since I have sleep apnea.

Anyway, Rest In Peace Mr. White.

ACK...day late and a dollar short on the updated Sleep Apnea.

But yea Sleep Apnea doesnt play around. You actually stop breathing when you are asleep if it is bad enough. That is why it causes sleepless nights since you are normally never able to get into REM sleep. I had surgery to get rid of mine about a year ago. BIG differance from then and now in how well I sleep.

RIP Reggie

Mine isn't nearly as bad as it was when I was pushing 400lbs.... but I still have an attack now and then where I literally sit straight up and bed and thru the panic have to remember how to breathe. Hopefully as I continue to loose weight it will be a distant memory. I knew about it farking up my sleep patterns, but never knew it could be deadly.

I saw the same thing, and I never seen anywhere where he 'gave up' on Christianity.

I was actually proud he was studying hebrew... 'study to show thyself approved'.

He was simply being a Berean and searching out what the Word says, not merely nodding to what man says.

R.I.P. Reggie White.

God's Flag football team has a pretty Good Dline now.......White on one end, Jerome Brown at T and #58 on the other is a pretty formidable pass rush.

He always seemed like a pretty good man. RIP.

i saw him play in a late season meaningless game against the saints, the year the pack won it all, he was playing on two bad hamstrings, he grabbed this saints guard with his left arm and threw him like 10 feet backwards or something. It was retarded how strong this dude was.

Who was it that did the (what do you call it) :banghead: across the throat? Anyway, Reggie made the comment about how he just hurt one of Gods own.........something like that. It was an amazing saying.:thumb:

There are a lot of people who would love for that to be true I'm sure. I don't know why they have an axe to grind with the man's faith.

I definitely did like watching him play. It's rare to see someone so good be such a class person too.

I just heard Deacon Jones on the radio, wait until he gets there. That is quite a pass rush.

They also mentioned that back in his time, sacks weren't kept as an official stat, but that he had 25 in a season once and 24 the next year.

"In recent years, friends say, White intensely studied ancient Hebrew to learn more about the original language that was translated into the Old Testament of the Bible. His studies connected him with the Jewish community.

"I've never, ever in my life seen anybody devote themselves to wanting to know the truth like Reggie," said former Panthers defensive back Leonard Wheeler, a close friend who participated in Bible studies with White. "Jesus spoke Aramaic and Hebrew, and Reggie wanted to understand what the Messiah spoke."
