What? No Iraq?

The Chineese have nearly twice the military we do, and spend around 1/7th on it compared to us. Do they still have a horse calvary?

I'm thinking that Iran vs. Turkey would be a pretty good matchup. I'd root for Turkey.

If those two ever get into it, there won't BE a Kashmir.

China is no surprise............but then again I believe in my God and it is told years ago that China will rise up with the army. China still uses horses as well.......that is major whether people think so or not.

I know Kim is a dickface, but for such a small country, North Korea has a damn high ranking.

It don't matter we would kick all of their aces anyway. Hell, a war with Myanmar would be like the Chiefs offense vs. the Chiefs defense not a pretty site.

Where's Great Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, etc.?

Also, it looks like about 50% of our military are regulars and 50% are reserves. But, our reservists are the best in the world. Our reserves are better than just about any military in the world. You could really combine the numbers for our regulars and reserves. For example, China would have 2,750,000 and we'd have 2,664,000.

The recent announcement that Russia and China will be conducting massive joint-military maneveurs in 2005 seems a little scary. Why would those two decide to work together?

I think their "military" is still the Canadian mountees. They've never fought in a war, why should they have a huge military?

Wages are insanely low in China across the board, so they can probably pay 10+ soldiers for the same $$ we pay ours.

We have 12 Aircraft carrier fleets. They have zero.

We have multiple nuclear missile submarine platforms, they have zero.

We have the most advanced technology in the world. They, erm, don't.

Not that they wouldn't be a threat in a fight, but look at the casualty figures from the Korean War. Here's a snippet from a website:

"Left in its wake were four million military and civilian casualties, including 33,600 American, 16,000 UN allied, 415,000 South Korean, and 520,000 North Korean dead. There were also an estimated 900,000 Chinese casualties."

I was surprised to see Italy and other countries that require that all men serve weren't on the list.

What is up with Russia? 20,000,000 reservist?

Actaully I believe that they are in the process of designing a new SSBN and they may have bought a couple off the Russians.

http://washingtontimes.com/national/20041202-115302-2338r.htm

The new submarine will be a major improvement over China's current ballistic missile submarine known as the Xia, which is equipped with medium-range missiles.
The current Xia submarine is considered so noisy to underwater detection gear that its chances of surviving attack submarine strikes in ocean waters are limited

I think the current "Ballistic" sub they have has a shorter range almost cruise missle type of attack ability where as this new one has all the latest and greatest stuff that the Chinese got from the Russians and other places.

Oh got it... http://www.sinodefense.com/navy/sub/092.asp

That gives their current ability with the XIA class ships. I think the major difficulty with the chinese would be any of their Diesel/electric boats they have for coastal patrols. The diesels can be very quiet.

But good news!!!

http://www.sublant.navy.mil/774facts.html

Booyaa!!! take that you Chinese bastages!!!!

By the way I heard we are reducing our fleet down to 2 ship types.....

Submarines.....and targets. :P

Yea I was a bubblehead....so what??

But it does come with the 100,000 mile warantee.

Bubbleheads are a strange breed to be sure. I was on a Sub Tender for 2 years and could tell you all quite a few stories about special folks.

Kramer: Ha ha, the Ukraine. Do you know what the Ukraine is? It's a sitting duck. A road apple, Newman. The Ukraine is weak. It's feeble. I think it's time to put the hurt on the Ukraine.

Ukrainian: I come from Ukraine. You not say Ukraine weak.

Kramer: Yeah, well we're playing a game here, pal.

Ukrainian: Ukraine is game to you?! Howbout I take your little board and smash it!!

Mandatory military rotation for all healthy males between X and Y miiltary ages and then get mandatorily moved into the reserves. At least, that's the way it was during the Communist regime, and it likely hasn't changed with their Chechnya (sp?) problems.

Actually they don't have much of an army or Navy now but they had about 1,000,000 men during WWII. They contributed a great deal considering their small population.
