My daughter got the game Zoo Tycoon 2 for Christmas. Turns out it's a big hit for the whole family. Here's our problem, things run smoothly when you begin to builld your zoo, but as your layout gains some size, the computer/game slows down. I got half way through a "medium" zoo and damn near locked 'er up. The response to mouse clicks was coming some 15-25 seconds later. I have a feeling the game may be too graphically demanding for our PC.
What kind of "go-fast parts" do I need for my computer?

Video card. Some more memory wouldn't hurt either.
Also, try lowering the graphic detail in the game.

A good AGP video card.
ATI Radeon 9700 & up
nVidia FX 5600 and up
You may also wish to add more system memory. I recommend 1GB, minimum.

Throw your computer out the window and go buy a new one. Hope that helps. :D

Is that something you do out of the game or an in game option?

Probably an in game option.
