I just noticed that Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" begins with the same notes as the theme song from "The Wild, Wild West" TV show. I wonder which one stole it from the other.

Who's got other songs that contain similar stanzas (or whatever they're called)?

"Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and "The Alphabet Song". Now I know my ABC's! :thumb:

No!! Ice's had the little 'ting.' It's not the same.

That American Idol Kelly Clarkson song, and that Duran Duran song.

Does the use of La Marseilles in the 1812 Overture count?

"When I Look Into Your Eyes" and "Love Of A Lifetime" by Firehouse. Two 80's hair band songs that we actually spliced together at one radio station I worked at to prove their similarities.

Formula anyone?

What, that I posted this, or that the melodies are identical?

The court disagrees, in the case of Queer Guys vs the Wanna be Rapper Guy, the ruling went against Ice.

BTW, I'm almost positive that the main theme to Star Wars is a sped up version of the title music from Lawrence of Arabia. Listen to it, you'll see.

John Williams ripped off piece of Holsts "Mars-Bringer of War" for the scene when the Millenium Falcon escapes the Death Star.

Yea...but that's becasue Under Pressure is sampled in Ice Ice Baby. There are a million sampled songs.

I'm almost certain that the apocryphal trio of Cryin', Amazing, and Crazy by Aerosmith belongs on here in some form.

Actually, I have an album based on this idea

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00000612C/qid=1104857878/sr=8-1/ref=pd_ka_1/103-1918448-6707854?v=glance&s=music&n=507846

A song cycle based on Dvorak's Largo movement from the New World Symphony.

The intro guitar crunch on Foreigner's "Hot Blooded" is nearly indistinguishable (to my tone deaf ear at least) from Judas Priest's "You've Got Another Thing Coming."

Yeah thanks, we know that and were joking about it above. The joke was that it was sampled without permission and Ice said it was totally different. The court disagreed and made him add the credit to the liner notes IINM

How about the identical form of 1812, Stairway and Sweet Child?

Holy cow. You're right.

THIS ... is why places like chiefsplanet exist. You don't learn stuff like this in school or in books.

Couple of obvious ones:

1. "I want a New Drug" by Huey Lewis and the News- "Ghostbusters" by Ray Parker Jr.(think that was his name)

2. "Super Freak" by Rick James - "U Can't Touch This" by MC Hammer

All Nickleback songs sound alike... I bet you could put "feeling way too damn good" overlaid for the same effect...
