So some bad ass storm is coming in 8 to 12 in of Snow. All my workers are acting like its a Friday knowing they can't work tomorrow. What a crock nothing has happen yet, this crap drives me nuts "Weatherman says snow, so there is no way I can work"

So I told everyone that they have to take some work home just incase they can't make it in. Now before ya all jump me, its only enough work to last 2-3 hours and they get payed.

Go for it. Deadlines don't go away because it snows.

I have worked at my current company for eight years. My Father worked here for thirty eight. In that time, I know of one day when we were asked not to come into work due to weather, and one day where we were sent home an hour early (the storm had started in the morning and was almost done by the time they sent us home).

I am sure I will be required to show up tomorrow. :(

Silly flatlanders! Why can't they make it to work with 8"-12" of snow? :shake: That's assuming the weatherman is correct.

Your a softie, LOL! Make them come in or loose their jobs. At least charge them sick or vacation time. Or make them stay at work if they cant make it the next day so they will already be there!

No crap, be happy you have a job and get here.

I've been real nice by bringing in lunch at least once a week.

I know if it was a Saturday and the weatherman said we were going to get rain, they wouldn't cancel a tee time, hell they would drive there in the rain in hopes it would stop.

Now ICE, that's a different story....

No crap. I spent 31 years driving in the Northeast where 12" of snow wouldn't get you a 2 hour delay from school. Since I've moved to the south where it's common to get 1/2" to 1" of ice, I go nowhere!

If I can get to the office tomorrow, then I expect the rest of them to make it as well.

Don't they have snow plows where you are?

I wish I could stay home when it snowed a lot. I could spend half the winter at home.

I’ve got absolutely no excuse for not showing up because of snow, and everyone at work knows it. Most of’em give me a call when they get stuck, so no way in hell I’d get away with the ole “couldn’t make it in” excuse.

Instead of bringing lunch next week, buy everyone an air mattress so they can sleep in the office if bad weather is expected.

If they lived in North Dakota, it would just be another day at work.

Just ask SNR (the guy who wonders why people live in areas prone to tsunamis and the like).

Well, based on all the bitching, it seems like that five miles is an insurmountable obstacle. As an added incentive, I'd let them take off work at four the next day, provided they work straight through 'till "lights out" at 11:00 pm.

They'll love you for it.
