For round 4 we decided to do things a little different.

Wow! This was FUN!

Tribbey and I took a batch of classic NFL rosters and duked it out with the All-time Broncos team vs the All-time Chiefs team.

Elway vs Dawson! Davis vs Okoye! Gradishar vs Lanier! BRING IT ON!

I won, of course. Dawson pulled off a comeback after trailing 31-14. He matriculated that ball down the field all day long. Otis Taylor caught about 1,594 slants in this game.

Elway kept pace by howitzering the ball down the field. I thought I had picks about 7 times in this game but the ball got there too fast. Bastard.

The roster editor screwed up. Gradishar ain't 52, either.

I don't blame him, EA's classic rosters suck. No names and the numbers are also incorrect.

Bad Guy, we just used a classic roster instead of the ones that come with Madden.

Man, I'm one of the few people that seems to like putting those historical rosters in and playing with them, but it's pure hell trying to find the actual rosters with numbers... I want them to be accurate. I did about 30 teams for Madden 2004 and really only have the 90 Chiefs done for Madden 2005. Somebody could make a killing making an accurate listing of those rosters.

He beat me the first time. But since I am 3-0, including a 59-24 whitewashing when I played as the Colts.

I'm looking around for a classic roster for our next matchup. I actually have one (it's a Madden 2004 roster, which works with 2005), but the Chiefs unis appear as the Bills, and Denver's as the Bengals. Ratings, numbers and names are all accurate though.

I'd just use a combination of the SuperBowl.com archives, www.jt-sw.com football site, the old NFLarchives.com website from webarchives.com.... plus any other site I could find that had historical info. Super Bowl teams are a lot easier to find some kind of info for, but if you want to do the 90 Chiefs or 92 Oilers (run and shoot baby!), it's a little more difficult.

No, this is PC. Hence the screenshots I posted (they're actually his).

I think the only reason he beat me in the first game was because that was the first time I'd played online in months.

Yeah, they have something like that on chiefswarpath.com....I've used that before too, it's pretty handy because nobody else has much on Chiefs history. There used to be an NFLarchives.com website that used to try to have every individual team's roster and numbers but it shut down a couple years ago and it never had much in the way of Chiefs numbers, etc other than the basic rosters for each year....

Here's the webarchives.org website for that old NFL site.... it might be of some use to you.... I'd warn you he doesn't have all the starters right for all the teams though, especially at the non-skill positions.

Just need to do KC.

The problem with those rosters is that alot of the players share the same numbers, so the numbers CAN'T be all accurate.
