It's obvious that we need CB's regardless of what defense we play. But given the FA's available and the draft would we be better off using the 3-4 and concentrating on LB's and CB's in the draft?
To utilize this defense, it takes a run stuffing NT of which we have few candidates (Siavii and Dalton), but I'm not sure we can generate enough rush using the 4-3 to help out our corners. Secondly, where do our current LB's fit in a 3-4?

Falcon was a bastardized 3-4, with DT.

It seems like most of our DL candidates lack quickness and speed, too many holes to plug for the upcoming year.

Actually, our DL is the only "adequate" part of our D right now in my view; yes, they need at least ONE more DE, and a mean DT (Siavi, Sims, or a FA?). To my way of thinking, picking up a MLB, and maybe another OLB...will improve the play of the DL.
The D was so bad last year, because outside of Fujita our LBs stunk--bad.
