One about what's going on in the Senate relating to judicial nominees:

and another about lobbying/manuevering going on behind the scenes with regard to the next Supreme Court nominee:

Thanks.

Those were interesting. Especially the second one. I had no idea that armies of lawyers and image makers/breakers were already at work on plans for rapid deployment of PR campaigns (both for and against) once a nominee is named. I guess it makes sense though.

Stupidest thing for the Dems would be to oppose the elevation of Scalia or Thomas to CJ. They're already on the Court. It makes them look like obstructionists even more and they waste some of their ammo that could be used for the new Associate Justice.

Here's hoping they do it!

The fight, whenever it happens, is going to be nastier then any political race.

There's no way they get a free ride to the CJ chair. They really are very far right of center. Scalia, at least, is brilliant, and I don't object to his ascension, really.

But yeah, unless Bush selects a moderate, it's looking like World War III is going to happen.
