(1 Arrowhead Drive)- Samari Rolle, the free agent corner supposedly coveted by the Chiefs, left Kansas City without a contract. Rolle's agent, Dick Phitzer, was stunned at the contract discussions that took place. "Thum told us Peterson had authorized him to make an offer of 2 years, $1.2 million, with a $350k signing bonus. He said if Samari was respectful towards Carl, that figure could go as high as $365." Rolle was equally disappointed, stating that he and Vermeil had forged a kinship during their brief time together. "Dick, man, Dick got some wine up in the hizzie! Dude's crib is tricked, yo!" a depressed Rolle mused. "We thought (expletive) was gonna happen, then this Thum dude come in and says Boss man in the Dirty South, offers us pocket money and (expletive). We bounced". Rolle, one of the most coveted free agents this season has already scheduled subsequent visits to Washington, Dallas, Pittsburgh, Oakland and Denver. Denver and Washington are reported to have offered attractive contracts to Rolle prior to their meeting. When reached for comment, an Arrowhead representative, said, "You build through the draft".

You left out the part where they told him they'd be honored to have him compete with William Bartee and Dexter McCleon for a starting spot.

Or the part where he'll be blitzing and Lionel Dalton covering the wideouts.. er... that was 2 years ago ROFL

The only way I would be okay with this, is if the headline above it read, "SURTAIN TO CHIEFS".

I really think we're going to have one of these guys by the end of the day today.

This is normal. Very rarely does a player leave a first meeting with a team with a contract in hand. Only player I can think of that it happened to were Wistrom and Barber.

You are truly classless and deranged.

I think the headline would be more accurate if it read:

Impact Free Agents Leave Without Contracts, Peterson Continues to Refuse to Improve Chiefs.

Agents for Ed Hartwell, Jeremiah Trotter, and Samari Rolle all commented that their clients enjoyed their respective visits at Arrowhead today but that their clients were offended when told by an obviously delusional Dick Vermiel that they would have to compete for starting spots.
The agents also said that the contracts offered were apparent to attempts to low ball their clients. One agent commented "Doesn't look like the GM has any intention of improving his team. All he cares about it keeping the seats full."
