Well that blows.

Um, why?

We should be spending every available free agent dollar on defense.

If we need a new WR, draft one.

Mainly cuz the Ravens are still pretty damn good on defense, and with a few good offensive players, they're really going to be in the hunt in the AFC. I'd have preferred Mason end up on a pathetic team, or in the NFC.

I could see the Ravens try to sing Plaxico Burress as well. Of course their QB isn't very good IMO but maybe he just needs good WR's.

Have you ever seen him play?

Unless they sign some 10 foot tall WR's I doubt they are going to be able to make Boller look good.

Kyle Boller ain't Steve McNair.

If the Ravens were to pick up Brad Johnson they might not be to bad with some talented receivers.

I don't know what kind of $$ Plax is looking for, but IMHO it makes MORE sense to sign him now. Plax is a better #2, I think, than a #1. With Plax and Mason, Ogden and Jamal Lewis, they're literally a half-decent QB performance away from being a near-lock to at least make the playoffs in the very competitive AFC.

As predicted by several folks here (though not me).

I agree, but OTOH, the Titans don't have near the running threat the Ravens do, nor was their defense in teh same league last year.

I also agree that it might make sense to try to sign Brad Johnson as a quality backup QB for them.

Derrick Mason is over-rated beyond belief. He should fit their offense quite well.
