He is using us to bump up his price just like Douglass did. He is gone, he certainly fumbled the "if you had a contract proposed - would you stay" question. Now we'll see about the others.

Rolle came here with his wife (maybe looking around for a possible place to live? That's my speculation), and is good friends with Gun. He is going home to Nashville tonight, he's very tired, and I got the impression that he wants to be here. He wants a deal by tomorrow. Coach drove him and his wife to the airport.

Trotter was less forthcoming. He is continuing to visit other teams, wouldn't confirm which one. Still, it was very positive.

Hartwell was supposed to leave mid-afternoon - as of the last update (around 20 minutes ago) he's still here. His agent wants him to play here, he loves Coach Vermiel and thinks this is where Hartwell should be.

Bell arrived not too long ago.

Both Trotter and Rolle said wonderful things about the team and Gun.

After hearing both interviews, and that Hartwell stayed over so long, and the word from Hartwell's agent - it wouldn't surprise me if both are signed tomorrow.

Oh, also, Trotter was supposed to leave mid-afternoon, but was still there at 5:30 when I left work. He was overheard calling his agent, went into a private room for about 30 minutes, and then went back in with Carl.

So one only hope.

Well if you live in the KC Metro Area or close enough, you could watch the 38 sports spot - which is supposed to be about all this - at 7 pm central. I don't live in KC, but it's a heads up for anyone who lives in the KC area or at least get that channel.

Cliff Notes:

He didn't say much. Basically said all the right things without ever sounding terribly excited about anything. Didn't act like the Chiefs had made an offer that had interested him yet.

The idiot reporter kept referencing the other MLBs that the Chiefs were interviewing like Trotter would be excited to hear that he wasn't the exclusive prospect.

It's was kind of hard to read him. He sounded like he had two pouches of Big League Chew in his mouth, came off dumber than a bag of hammers, and showed the emotion of a dead professional poker player.

Strange. Someone said

Sports Spot:

Word is that Trotter is not happy with the offer and will probably not be signed.

However, Rolle is a much more likely signing.

Hartwell moves up in priority for the Chiefs.

I heard Todd Leabo at arrowhead talking to Samari Rolle, so I will attempt to recap what he said.

Leabo asked him when he wanted to make a decision and he said tomorrow, but that he was very tired and he and his wife were going home tonight. Going back to Nashville but had a party for his daughter in Miami tomorrow sometime.

Had good things to say about Gunther, said he was still a class act, and regarding the team he characterized them as a few pieces of the puzzle away. Leabo asked him if he saw himself as one of those pieces and he said "yeah, probably". Said he was flattered that the Chiefs had made him the priority among corners available.

Impression that I got was that he wanted to sign. Now I need to call my doctor because my erection is nearing 4 hours.

This isn't from the Star BB or anything like that, just recalling what I heard. Leabo also gave some details about Trotter being in a private room at Arrowhead, on the phone with his agent with a pen and a pad. (however, this was before his interview on the radio, I did not hear that).

Leabo said Ed Hartwell was there and he could see him down the hall but at the time didn't have details.
