View Full Version : Petition to Remove Florida From the United States

12-09-2000, 06:10 PM
We the undersigned, hereby demand that a huge gorge be blasted, chiseled, dug, ripped, or torn out of the earth to physically separate Floriduh from the rest of these United States, thereby allowing the Atlantic Ocean to flow unimpeded into the Gulf of Mexico.

In accordance, this petition recognizes the right of any other nation to lay claim to Floriduh and its citizens.

A response below indicates your general agreement and acceptance of these principles.<BR>

I stipulate that we should instead draw a line just 50 miles north of Miami and blast that trench. The rest of Florida deserves no ridicule and should continue to be a member of the U.S. in good standing.

At least Florida didn't elect a dead guy for the senate...talk about screw-ups.

NO! Not yet anyways. Wait untill after they are allowed to vote in the electorral college. Other wise, Gore definetly wins. If you want to disown Florida, just wait untill after the election is over. Then, knock yourselves out.

If they remove Florida from the US, do I have to pay income tax anymore? If not, I'm all for it. :)

It looks I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

I wanted to vote for this petition, but I cant get my pen completely through the chad. Also my friend stated that he inadvertently voted "NO" when he meant "YES" as both words were small and confusing. Please reverse his vote. Finally, I have a friend who was dissuaded from voting by unsavory characters offering him cancer in a box, could you add his vote as well?

In honor of our 'friends' from the ol' BB, I would like to vote YES and NO.

Please count whichever one you want.

speaking of the old BB...i had to post a Gannon thread over there today just for grins...I think there are no Chiefs fans left over there...Rams, Raiders, Gannon fans all...I felt so dirty, I couldn't exit quick enough...

BTW...count my vote as a yes...so what if I voted twice?....

I think that is a great idea, the only thing I want from that state, and lets say we move them to Georgia, is the original Hooters and Walt Disney World.

Bob Dole feels disinfranchised by all of the discussion in this thread.

(Bob Dole is certain that the discussion would not be happening if Bob Dole wasn't old.)

I'm with Logical on the "line of demarcation" being about 50 miles north of Miami.

I believe that we should allow the more intelligent people of Florida to remain citizens since they took the time to cast their votes correctly. I would not want to punish someone who took the time to educate themselves and properly do their weight training so that they could completely puncture the "chad".

there'll be no line of "de-mark-ation" at my house

Why bother? Just wait for the next big hurricane to take 'em out.
