I'm going posting crazy, this is info on espn insider

Mar. 16 - According to Newsday, the Jets have broken off long-term contract talks with John Abraham and are willing to let other teams negotiate with the Pro Bowl defensive end until July 15. Abraham's agents, Tony Agnone and Rich Rosa, told the New York Daily News that the 26-year-old Abraham, the Jets' franchise player, might not participate in the offseason program or report to training camp unless he gets a long-term deal.
"Obviously, he's looking for a commitment and stability," Agnone told the Daily News. "At first, he was okay with the franchise tag, but he was kind of hoping it would lead to a long-term deal."

Abraham, who rejected the Jets' proposed long-term deal, is scheduled to earn $6.7 million in 2005. He is believed to be seeking a deal that would top Jevon Kearse's eight-year, $66 million contract with the Eagles that included $16 million in guarantees, according to the Daily News.

I'd love to take a chance on this guy, if we're going for the injury prone.

There's a difference between guys that get injured and guys that get injured but then refuse to play because they're afraid they might jeopardize their big payday...

Too rich for our blood. I guess the COLA in NY is much higher.
