I really wanted to pick ISU over UNC, but I figured if ISU won, it would screw up everyone else's bracket, too.... but perhaps not as bad as mine, since they're losing to UConn.

Well, if you have UNC and UConn meeting in the regional finals, you should check out my bracket to see how much that matchup would screw it up. Let's just say I don't have that matchup predicted for that regional.

I've just heard so much about UConn lately, it was really tough not to pick them.. UNC is kind of there by default... if they beat ISU, they should be able to beat Villanoa or Florida or whoever.

At first that KU/UNC game on my birthday seemed pretty cool, but the more I think about it, I wouldn't enjoy that game at all unless KU started out 20-0 and won by 50..... because my head could explode from the stress and thought of KU losing to UNC.

I just now filled out brackets. Final Four of Illinois, Wake Forest, UConn, Duke. Illinois wins it all.

Just checked on scores, and my 1st upset is off to a good start! Wisconsin-Milwaukee 24, Alabama 13.

Does anybody here bother with NIT picks? I never have before, but with the Shockers finally pulling their heads out at the end last night, I figured I'd let Homer have some fun and fill out an NIT bracket.

My disclaimer is I'm not a consistent follower of NCAA Hoops, so know very little about many of those NIT teams. Ended up with WSU, W. Michigan, S. Carolina, St. Joeseph's in the Final Four. Homer says the Shockers win the loser's tourney.

One year I need to not listen to anything about the tournament between selection Sunday and the next Thursday, and just fill out brackets going with my gut feeling...... this game is a perfect example.... I heard just enough about how Alabama is a good team and how they made it so far last year and how they could do some damage this year. It was one of the tougher choices, and so far it's paying off.

I don't think anyone that's ever been affiliated with KU could have that matchup and pick UNC.... I could pick KU to lose to UConn, Wisconsin, NC State, or Bucknell and have a rational reason for it (Bill Self compared Bucknell to Vermont last night :banghead: ).... and while I could come up with plenty of reasons why UNC could beat KU, writing in UNC to win that game would be like trying to chop off my wrist.

If I'm not in an office pool, which I skipped this year, I always wait until Thursday morning to fill em out. I just don't follow NCAA like I used to...

I was actually telling myself a couple of weeks ago that I wasn't going to fill out brackets this year... I had finals Monday and Tuesday night, so I had to hold off filling them out until Wednesday, plus this is the first year I'm working (instead of at school, where I could skip class :p ), so I won't be paying attention like previous years...... and on top of that, once I fill them out, it's nothing but bracket watching.

....so, Tuesday rolls around, people start asking me if I'm joining pools, someone asks if I could do their bracket because last year they had 2 #10s, a 12, and an 8 in the Final Four...... so 5 brackets, a Yahoo pickem, and ESPN pickem later, here I am...

But next year!!! ROFL

Well, I know of someone that has Charlotte & GTech in the Final. I think I could beat her. ;)

I think you have to know a little bit... like what the numbers mean. For instance, a number 1 or 2 seed has won the last 13 of 15 tournaments.... and how 5+ seeds practically never win the tournament.

As far as the first couple of rounds, I'm sure a guesser could do better than a lot of "experts"... but the early rounds are for show, the late rounds are for the dough.

I am pulling for Pacific, Arizona, Gonzaga, in that order.Well, the home team is movin on. lol.

BOISE, Idaho -- A 15-point halftime lead was just enough for Pacific. (http://www.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/teams/page/UOP)
The Tigers survived a sloppy second half and advanced in the Albuquerque Regional by holding off Pittsburgh (http://www.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/teams/page/PITT) 79-71 Thursday in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.
Christian Maraker came back after slamming his head to the floor in the first half and scored 17 points, including a late 3-pointer that helped clinch it and get the Tigers (27-3) through the first round for the second straight year.
Mike Webb scored a career-high 15 points, going 4-for-4 from beyond the arc to help the Tigers to a 45-30 halftime lead that held up through several Pitt rallies in the second half.
Carl Krauser scored 25 of his 27 points in the final 20 minutes while the Panthers trimmed the lead to five in the final 4 minutes, but Maraker's only 3-pointer of the second half put the Tigers back up 69-61 and Pacific held on from there.
The Panthers (20-9) had made the round of 16 the last three years, but could not recover after starting slowly. It took 19 hours Tuesday to reach Boise because of mechanical problems with the team charter and the Panthers were erratic all game.
Krauser's five 3-pointers helped Pitt stay in it, but his total was more than double what any other Panther scored and the rally came up short.

Texas Tech is looking good because there are no teams left with a big man to wreck them since Georgia Tech is gone. However, the three teams left in their bracket are all excellent offensively... Washington and Louisville can run and gun with anybody and West Virginia will wear you down with the Princeton style offense and three's. Everybody kinda looked at that bracket in the beginning and said "blah", but I think that might be the most entertaining Sweet 16 bracket left.
