Wow, that guy has expressed in one sentence something I just couldn't lay my finger on. There was something about this whole thing that just didn't sit right. Far more attention on this that there would be for a normal political fight, or a normal right to life fight. He may have hit it right on the head.

On this particular portion, I agree with you 100%

I've never watched a reality show in my life. I prefer the news as being more than realistic enough...

I don't doubt the attraction to the story is the reality aspect of it for some folks but I tend to believe what Bill O'Reilly does and that is that this has a deeper context of being a religious vs. secular 'culture war' and THAT is the attraction for many people...

it's also I think the pitfall of the case. Because many people are so entrenched in their particular ideologies they can't or won't try to understand the specifics of THIS PARTICULAR CASE.

Really it seems to boil down to a 'rule of law' case. But who's law and which rules?

I just can't believe that there are that many people so far to either side of this issue. It just feels to me like there are a few thousand people on either end who actually feel and believe the things they're saying and everyone else is making their pick for who they think is going to win. If it was really about the underlying issues there would be more stories about the underlying issues. Instead, all of the stories are about this case specifically.

I don't know, it just feels dirty to me. I'm actually a little embarrased at several of the things I've said now that I look at this whole thing from that context.
