So from a spinoff of the Zeppelin post, I ask what your favorite Pink Floyd song is.

My favorite is "Dogs" (In its 17 minute glory), but nothing but love for "Shine On You Crazy Diamond"

Really tough to choose just one. I'll list some of my favorites.

Young Lust
Time
Welcome to the Machine
Wish You Were Here

Now I expect some terrorist bitch to chime in and tell me how a few of those can't be my favorites because they get too much radio play.

...a Pict.

Aye an' a bit of Mackeral settler rack and ruin
ran it doon by the haim, 'ma place
well I slapped me and I slapped it doon in the side
and I cried, cried, cried.

The fear a fallen down taken never back the raize and then Craig Marion,
get out wi' ye Claymore out mi pocket a' ran doon, doon the middin stain
picking the fiery horde that was fallen around ma feet.
Never he cried, never shall it ye get me alive
ye rotten hound of the burnie crew. Well I snatched fer the blade O my
Claymore cut and thrust and I fell doon before him round his feet.

Aye! A roar he cried frae the bottom of his heart that I would nay fall
but as dead, dead as 'a can be by his feet; de ya ken?

...and the wind cried back.

Thank you.

Lately i'd have to say ' One of these days (i'm going to cut you into little pieces)' is the one.

Richard Wright makes that song.

I think the greatest song TITLE by PF has to be...
"Careful with that axe, Eugene"... followed closely by "several Species..." FlaChief mentioned...

No "Breathe", or "Young Lust", or "Welcome to the Machine". etc.

You can't just say, "Here are the best Floyd songs," and go. They're too good to do that.

You know, back in my Floyd collecting days, that was the single most prized possession I owned. I've heard that mint condition ones (mine isnt) can fetch over $10k at auctions.

I still have all the old 45's and tons of old vinyl from Floyd put away but I cant imagine the value is peaked like it was back in the mid-90's. Seems like some of their value has dropped. Could it be because they havent released an album in 11 years, those damn fossils? ROFL

You can't accurately. They can be your favorite, but to say they're the best would imply they are everyone's favorites which isn't true.

I heard Time live in Philly.

The first few bars (on the CD before the singing) was elongated and got more and more intense as they went.

I'd say my favorite is Time.

Back in the day...we were all sitting around listening to that song (cranked up really loud of course) and Aunt Mary came in and said "what are you listening to?" and stuck her head RIGHT next to the speaker, about that time the scream started ROFL we thought she was going to have a heart attack on the spot. ROFL

As far as my favorite it really depends on my mood but Eclipse is right up there, along with many others. It's good to see some "old" Floyd getting some love in here.
