I went to an SMS baseball game tonight. The stadium is awesome and the weather was very enjoyable. Just a fun night to be at the ball park. Aside from that, every time a player came out they played about 10-15 seconds of music and you could tell it was stuff the player's chose themselves because it was rpetty caried and just struck me as stuff folks running the stadium would not have picked out. That got me thinking...

If you were a player what is your music you walk out to the batter's box to?

Baba O'Riley - The Who (The start of the song)
The End Has No End - The Strokes (Start)
Superstition - Stevie Wonder (When the bass sound starts)
Brown Paper Bag - Rapreznet (Start)
Sex, Love, and Money - Mos Def (Start, No Words)
Yoshimi - The Flaming Lips (Start)
Melody - DjNuMark (Start)
Be Quiet and Drive - Deftones (Once guitar starts after intro)

If the music is really loud...
Such Greight Heights - Postal Service

The Winner...

Rock The House - Gorillaz

Isn't Meteora a CD and not a song, did you mean Faint maybe? Numb is kind of an intresting choice. I could think of 5 or 6 other songs by them that I would chose before Numb. I'm not trying to dog on your choices, just think it is intresting.

I think for myself I might have to lean towards Demon Speeding by Rob Zombie, though I could think of a few LP songs that have some potential.

Both bands do rock in concert. Rob stole Ozzfest a couple years back, feel so numb is a good song as well. Hell, that entire albulm kicks ass.

In general or if I'm coming up to bat, I'd pick one of these:

Outkast - Bombs over Baghdad
Led Zeppelin - Kashmir
They Might Be Giants - I've Got a Fang
Juvenile - Nolia Clap (Remix)
Jay-Z - Dirt off Your Shoulder
Gorillaz - M1 A1
Curtis Mayfield - Superfly
Tenacious D - Explosivo

If I'm in a GOB sort of mood, I'll go with...

Europe - Final Countdown

hmmm... interesting question

I'm tempted (for laughs) to put anything by lil john

it all depends on my mood... the two axis of music that I mainly listen to are rock/hard rock and rap

so I'll nominate two, and pick one by the end of the typing of this post

"no shelter", rage against the machine

"slacker", tech n9ne

no shelter would be appropriate for a baseball player, as you have 'no shelter' at the plate

for my life, heh heh, slacker

Actually, the original composer is Carmina Burana, who was born in the 13th century.

And it's easy to get this piece confused with the non-seminal composition describing gochiefs inability to get laid, 0-for-Tuna.

FWIW, last article I read on the subject, they hadn't decided on the branding yet either (whether the "official" nickname will be MO-State, MSU, etc). Course, I haven't read much since the bill passed.
